Poppy Project, a 3D-printable robot created in France

Poppy Project is an open-source humanoid robot based on a robust, flexible and easy-to-use platform. Designed by the Flowers Lab atINRIA Bordeaux, its development aims to offer a low-cost, modifiable robot to scientists, teachers, artists and geeks alike. Poppy is open-source both in terms of software and hardware, and 3D files of the various body parts are available on Poppy Project(http://www.poppy-project.org/). Including motors, electronics and3D printing, the robot costs around €7,500. A hefty sum, but ultimately affordable when set against what it can create.
