Brake chute (drag chute, parabrake) model for your cute model plane (the ones I call "Fofi").
Standard western canopy design in 4 shapes and 2 sizes:
- Full, most common shape on the landing run.
- Scraping the runway, flattened and trailing behind a taxiing aircraft.
- Deformed, slow speed shape.
- Initial inflation, soon after deployment.
All in 38mm and 57mm diameter ("Full" shape, others similar).
These may be scaled up or down, just keep in mind that walls may become too thick for beauty or too thin for a successful print. Hence the two initial sizes (thickness was compensated).
Please read printing tips.
(Lots of blobs and strings on my prototype, new PLA still not tuned right).
Print tested on FDM printer at 0.1mm, oriented inside-up (like a cup) and full supports.
Not an easy print, be careful peeling away supports, these may be stronger than the part itself!
