Another 100% print in place box with a geared closing mechanism.
The download includes a small and a big version of the box.

Allthough the box is print in place, it is also possible to print the parts seperatly. The parts easily snap-fit together afterwards. This can be used to achieve a multi-color print.

If your gear mechanism moves a bit stiff, you can use a small amount of lubricant, this makes a very smooth mechanism


3D printing settings

  • Minimum print-bed size: 200x200mm
  • no supports needed
  • print orientation is already correct, when loaded into slicer
  • in order to get the tolerances of the mechanism right, you should not go higher than 0.4mm nozzle and 0.3mm layer height
