3D model description

Complete, easy to assemble, scale turbofan engine. Each of the 3 spools spins independently, like the real thing!. Based on public blueprints of real 3 spool turbofan engines like the GENX and Rolls Royce Tren 1000 that power the Boeing 787 and CATIAV5 published model for easy assembly.
This model includes the 787 chevroned cowling, a see through HP Spool to see the LP Shaft passing through it and a stand to display on your desk.
This was a commissioned project for a thermodynamics professor that will be available to the public for a short time only by the owners request to share it with others.

3D printing settings

Some parts have custom supports included to make the printing easier. To assemble use:
Metric machine screw, star drive pan head, stainless steel A-2, 2.5mm x 0.45mm (1 box of 100)

Metric flat washer, stainless steel A-2, 2.5mm (2 boxes of 100)

Metric hex nut, stainless steel A-2, 2.5mm x 0.45mm (1 box of 100)

6204 open ball bearing 20x47x14 (quantity 2)

6003 open ball bearing 17x35x10 (quantity 2)

Hi everyone, I must sincerely apologize to everyone since I did not realize the cowling was not uploaded properly to the website until now. I have now updated it but if you need the files send directly, please feel free to leave your email and will gladly share it with you.

Agreed. The inlet to the fan cowl seems to be missing from my files as well.

For everyone who is thinking about buying this design: It is a nice design, but you should better not buy it because it is not complete (Inlet and Fan Cowling parts are missing) and the designer is not answering to any communication.

What's that little black piece in the HPC Shaft?

I am also missing the Nacelle Inlet and Fan Cowling? Also there are some parts double without a difference between them (e.g. Nozzle Cone and Nozzle Cone 1)

Sure, this is a model that combines the features of the most modern Jet Engines in operation today, powering the Boeing 787 and 747-8. It showcases three stages of compression, the fan, low pressure and high pressure compressors, two turbine stages, Low and High pressure. It features cut-out chevroned cowling that fits the engine like it would in real scale, and has a see-through HP shaft so you can see the LP shaft rotating in opposite direction.

Does the model have more quality/details than other models? Or, what is the difference with other similar engine models?

Hi, It was printed all black and then painted the leading edges by hand.

was this a dual head printer? Look at the blades with two color...

Hi, You can find those parts in the LP files, the IP on this model are the first two stages after the fan and the shaft is independent from the HP shaft.
There are no fuel nozzles as you can see in the pictures, the holes and the combustion chamber would have been incredibly difficult to print.
Let me know if you have any other question.

You say each of three shaft rotate independently, but I only see HP and LP parts, no IP parts. What am I missing? No fuel nozzles?
