Dragon GoT Lamp

3D model description

Dragon with Flames - Lamp or Figure - GAME OF THRONES 3D PRINT MODEL

instructions:
https://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Dragon-Lamp/

This is a model of Game of Thrones Dragons with different kinds of options.
-with or without the Night King riding on its back
-3 different kinds of flames (one straight flamethrower, one wide for a bigger light bulb and one in between that is on most pictures and can easily stand on a flat surface)
-with or without the option of having it prepared for the insertion of an LED for lighting (pre-cut holes and easy assembly)
-a high polygon version for detailed printing
-a pre-cut versions of the dragon so it needs less supports and so you can print it bigger with you given surface are (wings separate and body in three parts)
- a lower detail version where we’ve added holes to the wings so it looks like the dead dragon.

Files contain different versions of the GoT dragons and flames. The dragons also included cut into smaller parts in stl format.

The model was meant to be like Viserion, the dragon that burnt down the wall, but since the other two look very similar you can print is as any of them - just scale Drogon a bit bigger  . You can keep Rhaegal at the original size.

SCALE
The main two scales of the dragons are 250 mm (which fits diagonally on a Prusa sized printer) wide and 500 mm
You can scale the model to any size you like. It is in high detail so you can very large if you like.

3D printing settings

We printed the dragon with Fillamentum's PLA. We recommend a layer height of 0.05 to 0.2 mm on FDM printers. All parts are aligned to the printing platform for easy manipulation. Some parts of the dragon definitely need supports. For reliable printing, we also recommend setting a brim to some of the parts. It will ensure, that the parts will not come off the printing platform during the printing process. Printing settings will vary greatly depending on your specific printer. For printing the straight flame without supports in the top part to print for a lamp I recommend splitting the print into two processes where you would use supports in the bottom part to be able to print the vertical surface and then leave the straight part without supports so it looks nicer and carries light better.

Hi, there's a hole ready at the bottom for an LED and you can either use some adhesive or screw through the thinnest part in the middle of the flame base.

Hi! I printed this model and it looks great! I have a question. How do i put a light in the straight flame? I want to print that option as well and hang it on my wall. Thanks!

Hi, I've added the version without the rider :) I don't know where it got lost before

Hello, I just acquired the files, in the description it says that it is the model without the king of the night. But I've checked, and all the dragon models come with it.

Hi there, is any tips to print the flame with PETg?

Awesome, thanks for responding. I went ahead and tried 175% scale to see if it would work with the 500mm. Don't take this as a major criticism, I love this model you did, but it would be nice to get an stl flame for the lamp version at the 500mm size. I only say that because the gap at the bottom of the flames for the USB cable is enlarged quite a bit with upscaling and the base with the recess for the CPE board is thrown out of proper measurement when the 250 base plate is scaled up.

Both are manageable and not major issues, would just be nice to have the 500mm model flames as clean as the 250mm model. Also, this may all be moot because I don't know if the CPE lights are going to be as effective with the 500mm flames.

If it works, awesome. If not my daughter gets a dragon toy to play with while I reprint her lamp at 250mm. Thanks again for the beautiful model and all the options included with the package!

Hi, yes sorry about that. 200% is correct.

Hello,

I bought this and printed the 5 piece 500mm dragon (great model btw). However, I noticed there isn't a 500mm flame .stl that is hollow for the lamp. Do you know how much to scale up the 250mm to fit the 500mm model? Would it just be scaling the 250mm flames 200%? Thanks!

Hi, the flame works for the 250mm version. Which one do you mean?

Is there a chance you make the flame-models working for the 250mm version you provide?

i hate game of thrones, but this is fucking awesome.
