Hello! I haven't tried it in full size yet, I'm waiting for someone or a museum to print it. In principle, it can be done without any problem—it has quite detail and was made from high-quality photos of the original fossil.
Would you like to print it in full size? If so, I can prepare the file for you, split into parts for printing. :)
The offer is really exceptionally kind. I could give it a try. Would it be very complicated to cut the file into smaller parts? I’d rather not be responsible for a lot of work in case the print doesn’t end up working out.
Cutting it into a grid to print it at actual size — I can do it in an afternoon. But don’t worry about the amount of work; that way, if I do it, I’ll have it ready for future purchases or to print it myself.

I'm working on printing the Animatronic RC Facehugger and have just started. I'm running into a lot of issues attempting to print fg_bottom_case(2).stl. I'm using prusaslicer (2.9.3,) but there are a lot of errors reported when I load the model, and after slicing, there are two breaks in the layers near the top of the model, a few "floaty objects" that I fixed by breaking the model into pieces and deleting the floaters, as well as a lot of missing geometry near the two tabs at the top with the screw holes. What slicer did you use to print the model that is in the video? I originally tried to print fg_bottom_case_better_option.stl just based upon it's name, but that seems to be missing the complete back part where fg_bottom_case(1).stl and fg_bottom_case(3).stl attach.

Is that orcaslicer on windows? When I load the fg_bottom_case_(2).stl in orcaslicer 2.3.0 I see "error 920 non-manifold edges, the "Fix Model" feature is only available on Windows." I can see the broken layers at the top of the model in orcaslicer as well. I've never seen anything quite like this before. When the model is first loaded into the slicer (both prusa and orca) the model looks fine except for the top tabs, but when I slice them, layers 570 and higher have issues. Unfortunately, I do not have any computers to use except for Linux.
Pretty sure that's part of it. I sent fg_bottom_case_(2).stl to my brother, he sliced it in prusaslicer and saw the same issues I did. But he right clicked on the model and said repair, and then resliced it, and while there was still artifacting on the tabs, the layer breaks were gone. I'm going to go take a closer look at the blend file.

HI must say an awesome print thanks. I have to print the blinds at an angle to fit on the printer bed. The outer sections are ok but the two thin inner sections fall apart when we try and remove the supports. Any tips. I have resized all items by 250% to fit my boys costume. Total 3d printing newbie!

Hello! you can downscale a little, but then, the space for the servos will change, making the mechanism not fit. Perhaps reducing the blades lenght and total lengt it will work. I'll check it out tomorrow :)
