My children gifted me with an AnyCubic Photon Mono 3D printer for Father's Day 2021. This engaged me on my 3D printing journey. As a career programmer, my interests quickly led me to OpenSCAD so that I could programmatically create 'things'.
I now own 2 Bambu Lab X1C printers. I enjoy filament printing much better than resin printing.
As a Christian my initial project was to generate Christ centered ornaments, not only just for Christmas but also to be used year round. Of particular interest were Christmon Ornaments that originated and were first made for use on the Christmas tree of Ascension Lutheran Church in Danville, Virginia, in 1957 by Mrs. Frances Kipps Spencer.
If one searches on the internet there will be found countless Christmon designs in many different format and media types. I decided to use OpenSCAD to generate my Christ medallions coupled with GIMP to create my own original designs of the common ornament symbology. They can be used as Christmas ornaments, or coupled with any other project to remind one of Christ's work on the cross for us all-year-round!
The kitty avatar is in remembrance of my cat Typse who died unexpectedly at age 7 December 2021 with saddle thrombosis.
