Hi, nice deck. Could you upscale it to 1/32 for me?
thanks a lot. Georg

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. Thanks, which deck are you referring to? The WW2 Us deck is available in 1/32 scale. The others, unfortunately, I won't have time to do anytime soon due to work and degree commitments (I'm a bit overloaded at the moment).

Hi, vielen Dank. Glaube du sprichst deutsch richtig? Das 1:32 Deck für WW2 schaut auch gut aus. Hast es mit nem Resindrucker gedruckt oder Filament?

Hi, Sorry my German is basically nonexistent, but Google to the rescue. They were designed for resin printers but some people have had success printing them on filament printers. I would imagine it is a bit of work getting to sections to fit correctly though, due to the tolerances.

I bought marston mat but suroprise... just a plate full of it... Please can you send me single marston mat plate?
Thanks

Why would that be a surprise... It's a 200mm round base? It's in the pictures. I can make the individual plates, but I won't be able to do it until next week as I have an exam this week.

Thank you. I'll wait for single mats.

Hello i see your "1/48 MARSTON MAT/ PERFORATED STEEL PLATE AIRFIELD DIORAMA AND DISPLAY BASE."
Do you try/print it in 1/32 scale ? diorama wished size : 32 x 42 cm and 42 x 42 . I know it's big , it could be fine to have files with "standard" (orthogonal) orientation for easy cutting and positioning (overlapping 4 psp length x 4 psp width for example))!!!!! thank you

Sorry for the late reply. I'm working on another version of the Marston mat at the moment, but the computer struggles quite a bit due to the high number of vertices. and a pad of that size might not be possible at the moment. I could try a modular system, though that allows multiple identical pieces to be assembled to that sort of size. I'll look into it.

Thank you, You are right, i think it will be a good upgrade for large scale airfield. Best regards

Hey mate, can you do the carrier bases as round? It would cut down on area taken up on a model display. Or can the files be modified?

It's something I have considered but haven't had the time thus far. What kind of size were you looking for?

You would probably want around 15-20cm for 1/72 and 25-30cm for 1/48. That's just a rough estimate. Just that square ones have a lot of dead space and take up a lot more room in a display cabinet. Just a thought.

That's cool. I'll see what I can do. I can't make any promises about the time frame unfortunately. It's been a hectic year so far and my output has suffered a bit.

Hi, do you print on demand? I've no 3d printer but I'd like know how much could cost 1/48 carrier deck (plus delivery to Barcelona-Spain)

Hi, yes I sell the prints via an ebay store at: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/mini-mason-models

I purchased your 1/48 carrier deck. Do you have a file that has the entire deck as one piece?

Hi. Sorry I only do them as the bases.

Using meshmixer you'll see that the edges of the boards are not closed up to the sides of the base. Meshmixer can't repair it. Lychee sees it and can't repair it internally. Neither can Microsoft 3D Builder or Netfabb. Chitubox ignores it - is that what you are using?

Yes Chitubox will print it just fine. I'll see if I can satisfy lychee, but with 5 million faces, it might take me a little while.

Ok I think I've sorted it. I have uploaded the revised version, I hope that helps.

Thanks - works great!

This part is non-manifold as downloaded - can't be printed. Please fix it. Thanks.

You're the 18th person to download that model and I've personally printed dozens of them, and there is a printed version in the photos, you're the first to have a problem. I'm going to need more information to diagnose the issue, which slicer are you using?

Hi, Im really new to 3d printing and was amazed at your free OO gauge garage. So anyway i printed the main body which came out fantastic. But each time i try to print the single or double roof the print goes haywire. Its putting a frame on the hot plate then when the roof starts to print it goes over the edge of the frame which causes the print to not go smoothly. Is there a way i can send a pic to show what i mean. Many Thanks for adding your design to the site. Its a real help for people like myself. Cheers Ken

Hi. You can email me at MiniMasonModels@outlook.com but I think I can guess what the issue is from your message. I'm guessing you are using an FDM printer? if so, try learning at something like 45 degrees and support it on the back. If it is lying flat the tool path for the texture is just too complicated. If that isn't the issue, by all means email me a photo and I'll see if I can work out what is going on.

Hi Kieran, I have just had another go at printing Im using a Creality Ender3 V3 ke. I used the supports as you suggested and it worked great. Like i said im a complete newie to this and at 60 with slight onset of demetia it can be a struggle. But anyway thats worked fantastic. Thank you so much for your help. I owe you a pint. Cheers. Ken

Thanks for the email. I'm glad it turned out well and that you are happy with it. It looks like you have your printer pretty well tuned, I wasn't expecting such good results from an fdm printer, it looks like you are doing great Ken, I hope you are enjoying your 3D printing journey.

Hi, do you have the carrier deck tie down strips for 1/72? I bought your full base but would like to customize my own diorama. It could be matching the size of your current projects.

Hi, I have a secret tie-down file that I haven't released yet. From the notification I see you've found it. The support structure is a little chunky which is why I haven't released it yet, os please let me know if you have any problems with it.

hi. can i print and sell your injection seat? ill give you commission

Sorry, strictly non-commercial only. I sell them myself and don't really want competition from my own designs.

Hi. Don’t you have ejection seat MB Mk. 9? I am looking for it to use in my harrier 1/32.

Hi. Sorry, I design them as I come to them, and while at some point I do intend to do a Harrier I can't promise it will be anytime soon as I have a list a mile this at this point. That being said I have been looking to do another ejector seat. so I might bump it up a bit... Which kit is it?

It’s an old Revell kit, that needs a lot of improvements to make it a little interesting. I am looking for 3D printable upgrades to give it more life. Thanks for reply.

Good afternoon
Can you please tell me the WWII US AIRCRAFT CARRIER DIORAMA AND DISPLAY BASE (1:48 SCALE 200MM STL file? I have download ir and the size its 510 Mb its correct?

Yes, they are STL. The size is because the texture requires a high poly count.

Thank you very much.

Hello, what program did you use to make the texture in the concrete dio base?

Greetings! I was reading some of your other posts. I downloaded the 1/48 flight deck and I am also having issues with slicing in Chitubox. I have tried it on 2 different computers and it hangs up at 20% than crashes the program. I will try and download another new copy but so far it has not worked.

Hi. I have re-downloaded it to check but encountered no issues slicing the file. I haven't had any issues reported with that file by other customers so I suspect that it was corrupted during download. Redownloading it will probably fix the issue.

Which printer is it being sliced for?

Anycubic Mega Pro. The software for it is pretty much the same.

I redownloaded and still cannot get the file to slice. I am going to try to convert it to an .obj file and see if that works.

So no joy with this either. The Anycubic software refuses to slice the file.

Ok I have the Anycubic software installed and I'm trying to replicate the problem (sorry for the late reply, Ive been away)

Wait Anycubic Mega pro... Thats an FDM printer using Anycubicslicer, which is supposedly based on prusaslicer, not Chitubox (which is for resin printers). Are you sure thats correct? Because I need to know which slicer Im trying to fault find on Anycubicslicer (FDM) , or, Anycubic photon workshop (Resin).

I am trying to print on an fdm printer. It is the Anycubicslicer. My first email was in error. I use both programs but my resin printer is not big enough to print this file.

I think I've worked out what's up. Are you by any chance laying it down flat?

Hi, I am building a an aircraft carrier deck 1/48 scale and need tie down strips. I was wondering if you have the 1/48 scale tie downs strips available as a single file for sale? I am searching for the old brass photo etch but they are sold out everywhere.

I don't have them ready to go, but I still have all the files from the carrier bases so I can make them quite easily. Give me a few days to prepare and test print them and I'll get back to you. How long would you want them, and what kind of depth would work best?

Awesome! 14 inches wide for the tie downs. I would say 3/32". But your input would be advisable as to what you think the tolerances would be for strength of material. I am making the planks out of balsa wood.

Actually the tie downs could be made shorter and I could assemble them in multiple parts if that works better for your file.

Ok, I've looked back over the old archive photos and it looks like I made a few mistakes on the original dimensions so I've made a some corrections. The original ties look to be made up of 10ft lengths which works out at 2 1/2 inches per length at 1/48 scale. Two lengths totalling 5 inches would probably be best. Does that seem ok.

That would work, then it can be 3D printed "X" amount of times for how many I need? Am I on the right track?

Yeah, that's my thinking.

Hi, I've added them as a secret listing for now as I plan to update the other bases with the new tie-downs. the link is: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/wwii-us-aircraft-carrier-tie-down-strips-1-48-scale-scalable-ea837961b3ebcf711da8 You will probably have to be careful cutting away the support as I think it is going to need some refinements. Any feedback would be welcome.

I will do so. The pic looks so good. Much obliged for your talents.

Hello,
So IF I print the street and add my model of tank or diferent vechicle I made my self Can I sell it ? with your printed street which I painted by my self or not ?

Sure, if it's part of a complete diorama / model set that's absolutely fine. It's only people selling them as new prints that I object to (I don't want competition from my own models 😅). Hope that helps.

Yes that helps .. I got another problem I'm new with 3d printing I was trying to upload to my 3d printer with various of formats and it cannot see Your project .. tried STL, V somthing .. I was using software from 3d printer to sliced it .. I export it and dosent see it .. any IDEA ?:)

Different printers use different file types, but the slicing software normally sorts that. I use chitubox as it will work with basically any printer. Which slicer are you using?

I resolve the problem it was my fault :) didnt copy a file with the *.g extension ... BTW its look AWESOME !!!

Thanks so much. I'm glad you got it sorted out. :)

The listing includes photos of printed and painted examples. I still have the finished examples on the shelf if you would like me to photograph other aspects of the models. Just let me know what it is in particular that you would like to see.

Would be interested in your 1/48th scale aircraft carrier decks. Do you have any photos of completed work for sale? Please contact me at: jgWolf359@yahoo.com

This file will not slice. I have tried it with 2 different slicers

Which slicers did you try? I use chitubox, I'm not sure what previous buyers have used. Have you tried redownloading it in case the file got corrupted during download.

hola buenas ! me he descargado diorama la calle adoquinada .y el chitubox no me lo descarga por que solo descarga hasta 250 MB !! me lo puedes reducir o decirme como se hace ? gracias

I also use chitubox. Its file size limit is 6gb as quoted by them and I've printed at 1.4Gb with no issue. I'm not sure why your copy should be limited to 250mb. The only way I could reduce the file size is to rework the model entirely with a lower detail level.

pues si es tan amable aunque pierda calidad . se lo agradezco, gracias

Ok. Give me a little time. I'll see if I can reduce the texture quality to bring the size down.

Ok !! Cuando puedas

Perdona que te moleste 🤦! Si te resulta más fácil partirme el archivo en dos partes ! A mí me vale para el mi proyecto !

I reduced the texture quality on the cobbles which brings the size down to 170mb, it shouldn't notice too much. I've put up a secret listing for you, but bear in mind I haven't printed this version but there is no reason to think the change would affect printability. I hope this helps: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/cobbled-street-diorama-model-tank-vehicle-base-1-35-scale-200x150mm-low-detail-086682a8b9f13c1a2218

Mini Mason, I really need to get a 1/18 scale propeller for my Dauntless, can you help, checked all of the after market guys, and nothing is there

Hi, you could rescale the 1/32 propeller to 1/18 by printing it at 178% size in the slicer. You will probably have to fill/ the hole for the spindle to get it to match your particular model as they are likely to be different. Hope that helps.

Hi! Is it possible to remix your model for a japanese carrier flight deck?

It's on the horizon, I have a few other models I've committed to first though.

Is it posibel to get permission to sell the models I print of your designs.. ?

merry christmas to you

Sorry, non-commercial only.

Merry Christmas to you too.

Ok

Good afternoon, would you have a modern aircraft carrier flight deck?

Not yet unfortunately, but it is something I'm going to be looking at doing in the not too distant future.
