Every time I print the seahorse the tail fails I have tried every version.. I followed your suggestions on slowing the speed etc. I think out of the 20 times I have tried printing this I have gotten 2 successful ones I am not sure what else to try. It seem to fail in the same spot. Any help you can give me would be great!! Thanks so much!!

Hi :) please use V5, It looks like a bed adhesion issues, or could be a filament problem, Could you rotate the model, so the tail is in another section of the bed? Also in slicer enable Z hop, so nozzle wont drag on print and avoid printed parts while travel? Reduce travel speed as that was probably the reason why tiny portions of tail gets knocked off. Also V1 has a fixed tail if its difficult to print flexi tail as worst case scenario, pls lemme know.

Sure. The entire tail link breaks off or just the tip? A particular link? Would be awesome if you say hi on @mels3d insta, that way i could make changes and show you before uploading.

The last 3-4 tail links have been consistently fusing, and then even a medium amount of pressure to loosen the last few tail links causes the tail to snap off.

Ah so just a fusing issue. Got it. I’ll increase the clearance.

Are you printing V2 or V3 and both of them have same issues?

Did the store listing have a V3? I think I only saw the V2 STL

The zip file has V3. Which is a Zip, I believe last year someone said something about tail and i made V3.

Hmmm, I see the V3 now, you should put a big warning or disclaimer on the listing, because V2 seems like it has these issues

Will do. Im now looking at V3 and i could still make the tail stronger as i see some improvement ideas. I’ll be making that’s slowly. Maybe you can just chop off tail and give it a quick print to see. Just the tail using cut tool rotated.

I improved it with 1.5X stronger links on entire tail. Lemme export and upload, gimme few mins and Thank you for making me edit. I feel silly seeing that link with the new ones i did on seahorse etc. improved so much.

V4 uploaded and happy printing.

I am having the world worst time time getting the flexi seahorse to print. I get the first few layers done and then a piece of the tail pops off. Ive tried switching plates, adjusting print speeds, 2 different glues, 2 different filaments, adjusting the leveling and even tried a raft. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Printing at 50mm/s on first 2 layers
100mm/s or less for the rest.

Using orcaslicer from flashforge

Layers ive tried are both .12 and .16 using a .4mm nozzle.

Printing on a flashforge adventure 5 with enclosure.

Use the cut tool and cut off .2-.5mm off from bottom and or maybe scale the model up 5%

Ill give the cur tool a shot. I had already scaled it up to 120% and it still had the issue.

I would like to buy the articulated seahorse but I want to sell it. Can I pay more to be able to do that.

Commercial license available on My mini Factory and patreon :)

I understand that you have an articulated seahorse, I am not finding it.

Hi! I'm having serious issues printing the wings of this dragonfly. Within a few minutes, I'm getting spaghetti, but the main body printed flawlessly on my first try with my current settings on my Prusa mini. I have not done any resizing or modifications to the original model, and I'm using a 0.3mm nozzle. Please help!

Hi :) Change the printing speed to 30-40% and use .12mm layer height and 30% infill. Let me know if it helps. Incrase first layer temperature to 220C on pla as well

I took your advice, and they printed out beautifully. Thanks so much for the help, and a very happy holiday to you!

Would be awesome if you take a look at the latest design as its even more complex and fun.

Hallo,

0.2mm layer height
15-20% infill
30mm/s First layer speed.
Can use Brim or skirt.

Use Brim and slow down the first few layers, or Entire body. Use 20% infill and should be fine :) Lemme know if you still have any issues. Support Free.

Thanks!

Do enable Z hop in slicer so nozzle won't hit on parts during travel. Also you can use the cut tool in slicer and cut the base a bit, maybe .05mm etc to have a flatter base. 😊

Nice work there.

Hi! I want to say that can you make the amethyst dragon body a little curve more? The flame or tongue can’t fit in my nep 4 bed

Hey, the elephant is nice, but it has a couple of problems, first the beginning of the chain of the trunk looks awful and very thin. im not sure about the ears, it would probably ended better with another articulation.

There's a V2 Elephant in progress. You can try Petg if the trunk is thin. Or scale up. I'm working on a V2 360 linked Elephant like the 360 Fox.
Been working on the Dragonfly V3

I am stumpedI have dowmloaded this several times have seen the files but cannot seem to get it to load in cura to slice. It says no files i have been able to load it in pursa but cant do anything with it please help

Cura cannot load any 3mf files properly, not just this. Should work on prusa, what's the issue on prusa, Could you try orca, as most people are using orca slicer now?

I tried orca, came up with to many errors, I finally gave up. In pursa the file is to big and it wont let me make it smaller. looks like you got my money and me nothing, thanks for nothing

Have you tried slicing it, the errors are added intentionally to stop remeshing and reverse engineering, just like all 100 models I've published.
What does vertex errors have to do with slicing, unless you are trying to load model in some Cad softwares.
I can do a refund and you can stop try to remesh and I'll publish a YouTube video on how good it slices on prusa and orca, super slicer, bambublabs and post a link.

Hello sir, I'm just curious, you purchased the flower frog on May 14 and how come you never opened the model for a week, just curious. it's been a week. If you want custom modifications, I can do that and publish in here. No matter even if you have rtx3090 it's not gonna remesh or edit well.

ive not recieved downloaded file

You got a zip file correct?

Could you extract it and see?

sorry ive sorted it thank you

I cannot download this file from cults. Everytime I try it eventually cancels. I can download smaller files no problem but this size just doesn't hold the connection to cults. Is there another way to get the files smaller or individual?

Hi i just contacted Cults team and they asked me to inform you to contact them directly so they can fix it quickly. If it's not working, I'll get a backup file for you, just lemme know how it goes.
Best Regards.

Good afternoon, I am struggling with the v5 frog 3mf. It opens with "errors" which require repairing in 3D Builder. When I save the file as STL for slicing (in Cura Ultimaker 5.5.0) it freezes and does not complete slicing. I've tried many different settings to see if it just is my settings, but it works on other models. Wondering if you can let me know if anyone is having this problem, or if you have any suggestions for what I could do to resolve this. Thanks for any help/information you provide. Take care.

Mark

Hi! Cura do have issues opening 3mf files. Is it possible to use orca slicer for your printer?

Okay, I'll try Orca. Thank you for the suggestion.

I purchased the braided wicker basket, but it was not as pictured. Why?

Which slicer are you using?

Hi I just uploaded an stl, could you check and confirm please?

I purchased the poison dart frog seeing that it had 'multipart multicolor' files listed, but I don't see seperate files for the frog vs spots for my IDEX printer. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Hi 👋 Thanks for the support by downloading. May I know what slicer are you using. After you import the 3mf file, if it asks to convert to mm or inches etc, say no. Then do you see the spots on the frog? If so under object can you see list of parts?
If it is opening as one object, is there an option to (Split into parts) ?

Again hi! The file you are looking for is called Poison Dart Frog by Mels3D.3mf
Other stls and 3mf are spotless frogs, i attached it as a gift 🎁 for those who wanted a clean frog.

Sorry, I should have elaborated more.

I had opened the "Articulated multicolor frog v3.3mf" file, as well as the poison dart frog 3mf, and I can ungroup them. Grouped, I see spots on the model. Ungrouped, I see over 90 objects, but don't see where to define color for the spots in the object list, and the model is smooth (so guess each spot is an individual object?)

I presumed that some of those object are the spots, but changing some of the objects color didn't so anything. Likewae, if I leave them all as 'color 1' and change object 1 - the body, to color 2, it's now 'green', but no color of spots, even after regrouping.

I've printed other 2 color models by setting color of STL's then merging, so didn't think I was offbase on picking color for objects? However, if I 'merge' the group, I get an error. If I regroup - it puts them back together, but no spot colors or even outlne of spots as it showed originally.

Thanks for the help! Has to be something I'm doing. ;)

Hi before i reply anything, what slicer are you using, is it a cura fork or prusa based.

Usually it's easier if you give default filament color to all spots and choose Extruder 2 for the arms, legs and body. So the spots are auto assigned to Extruder 1.

Finally got back around to this, and must be missing something. I open the file in Cura, and the preview shows two color. My extruders are each assigned a different color, and when it loads, the stage shows a single color frog - no different color spots as in the preview.

I tried ungrouping, and manually assigning E1 for main body and legs, and everything else was assigned to E0. Regrouped, and still don't see spots. Sliced and tried printing, and apparently all the spots and eyes dropped to the plate, which explains why I didn't see them as color in my preview.

Sorry if this is stupid question, but haven't used 3MF as multicolor print, so appreciate any pointers. Not seeing much online for this. Thanks!

Cura has some issues opening 3mf. See if you can slice it with orca or prusa slicer ?

Nope, giving up on this, and disappointed. Had really looked forward to this model, but it's a pain. No reason it shoud have issues with Cura, and ungrouping the spots 'fall' and aren't on the surface anymore. I tried setting up Prusa for my printer and while the objects show different colors, the model doesn't and have alerts on most of the objects. Looks like a great model, but even on my i9 machine with 32G ram, it struggles with this one.

Could you join the discord, many of them prints and sell this frog. Maybe you can take a look at his they doing it?

I just uploaded V2 with high Clearance body.
Lemme know how it is :)

Love the pattern on the wings on the new dragonfly, would you consider updating the pattern on the original? I prefer that body as the new one looks a bit too flat/unfinished to me. Thanks!

Thankyou. 😍 Could you check if the body in V1 is called High Clearance which you wanted?

Yes, the "organic high clearance" body is preferred but I do love the wing pattern on the V2

Hi! I received the note from Cults that I could update my file, however the download looks the same as the original and not like the images in the photos (ie more detailed wings)... am I doing something wrong or is the upload incorrect for the updated files? Thank you!

this is for the dragonfly

Hi it was to inform about the release of the new Dragonfly V2
with the text file added to V1
update.txt
Which is available as a new model with better wings, better bed adhesion, movable ball joint wings, print in place + print in parts to join.
Which you can download from :

Hi. I checked V2 and V2S the dimensions looks same. Do check the dimension and confirm again, if it looks same, it will match. Also i can customise it for you. Currently working on a part cooling fan for the mounts so you'll be getting part cooling fan for this design.

Hi! question on the H2 V2S REVO MOUNT PLATE FOR SOVOL SV04. will that mount work for the other H2 mounts than the REVO?

The part cooler is now related. Do check it out :) Tnx

Hi! I was looking at your Spire Serpent model, and i was wondering what type of filament you used to print the image you have posted?

It was printed with a resin printer. For fdm print, I'd recommend Pla plus or silk pla.

Awesome! Thank you
