Hey mate,
Where are the instructions for the button access print? I can only see for the full grip print
Hi, both versions are almost identical, the only difference is the back piece that needs to be glued on. One has a full beaver tail and in case of the button access version - a cutout with a thumb rest. You can follow the full grip instructions and only step 7 will be slightly different. Let me know if you run into any issues!
Hello! I love the button access design. But I have a slight problem with both.
I'm a female so, regrettably, My hands are super small. The distance from my trigger finger to the bottom of palm is barely 6 inches. The width of my palm is approx 3 inches. I have a hard time reaching both the trigger and grip buttons at the same time. Could you possibly build an extender modification for me or modify it in some way to fit my hands better?
If possible (fingers crossed) just let me know what it would cost. I'll pay prior to the build mod. I really like the pistol grips, I just wish my hands were bigger. Oh and If I put the right controller in my left hand and vice versa it's almost a perfect fit but really hard to remember my hands are opposite during game play.
I'm new to 3D printing and have yet to successfully "build" anything that hasn't turned into a Hot mess :/
Thank You for your time.
Hi, glad to hear that you like it overall! I've been extremely busy lately and I'm honestly not sure when I'd be able to work on this. If you'd like, feel free to join my discord server and just remind me from time to time and I'll look into it as soon as I can! https://discord.gg/C7BxZ9d6
Bonjour, je vous ai envoyé une offre.
Cordialement
hey. I bought your glock17 model for oculus. now I needed holster for it. do you have something probably?
Hi there the gunstock is awesome but I was wondering if you could make the bottom section 10mm higher and still have the slidding rail
Hello, what is a promo code and how do I use it?
Hi, I don't have any promo codes active currently
Hey Kriso, i bought your glock model and 3d-printing it. Can i sell the 3D-printed part not the modell but only the parts?
Hi, selling 3D prints and models is strictly prohibited and only for personal use. I have a Commercial License membership available here if you're interested: https://makerworld.com/en/@k3design.store - which allows you to sell a certain amounts of 3D prints, but keep in mind that this only applies for the models available on MakerWorld, so for example it doesn't apply to Quest 3 pistol grip which is only listed here, on Cults.
Hello, I only see a Moving Slide for the right side in the files. Is there one for the left side as well or is it just mirroring the file in slicer? Love the design and have both printed!
Hi, the moving slide was just a prototype I made at a request of one of the users and I haven't made the left handed version yet as I wasn't sure if it would be a useful feature in any games at all. Can I ask for your feedback on that, are there any apps that make a good use of it?
For now simply mirroring the design should work, although the "shell ejector" will end up on the wrong side of the slide and the writing will be mirrored as well - but these are only cosmetic issues and shouldn't affect functionality.
I'm currently working on multiple big projects so I won't be able to work on a left handed version any time soon so feel free to mirror it in your slicer to test it out and let me know your thoughts!
Ahh I see. I will test it out and let you know. Thanks!
hello there this a great print but i was wondering if you have step by steps for the button access stl you only give for the grip full please let me know.
Hi, the assembly process for both versions is almost identical.
The only difference is that Full Grip needs the "Slide filler" part glued on (as shown in the manual) -
and the Button Access version uses "Grip BA thumbpad" part instead, glued in the same spot.
Let me know if that works for you
Any chance for a left slide for battery?
Sorry for the late reply! I'll definitely look into it but I've been very busy lately so I can't give you any time estimate unfortunately
Hi , I have downloaded the oculus quest gun print from you and I can print all the parts apart from the main body where the controller fits. The one that covers the thumb stick. When I put it through my slicer ( I am using Cura) it says that the model isn’t water tight and that it won’t print unless I solve the issue. I’m fairly new to 3d printing and I have no idea how to fix a model or what software I would use. ? Is this something you can fix for me. ? Hope to hear from you soon.
Mike.
Hi, I haven't used Cura in years but I tested it just now and all seemed to work fine. Maybe it's because I'm using an older version of Cura. Can you try using a different slicer? Bambu Studio would be ideal since that's what I'm using right now.
Do you use discord by any chance? It would be much easier to troubleshoot there. If you do then just send me a direct message at #kriso291 or join my discord channel https://discord.gg/RRs7Xvft and I'll do my best to help you out
Thanks so much for getting back too me so quickly. I will try it through a different slicer and see how it goes. I dint have discord I’m afraid. I will let you know how I get on. Thanks again. 👍🏻
I really like the look of your 'blowback' Glock. Are thre instructions for assembling the finsihed item?
Thanks! Yes, there's a step-by-step manual included with the files
Thanks! I will order it tonight, when I'm not on a work computer...
Awesome! Let me know how you like it and if you encounter any issues I'll be glad to help
Pistol grip is not compatible with Quest Pro controllers. I want a refund. Please, fix the product description too.
I have posted my review with pictures. The main problem is that the pistol grip does not align with the Pro controller pointer and gun models in games (tested in SteamVR and Breachers).
Thank you for the feedback! Just seen the review. Is there any other issues besides that? Is tracking working well? I received multiple messages from customers on etsy that have tested it and confirmed no issues whatsoever with Quest Pro, but it could be that they just didn't mind the angle being slightly off or it was different in the games they tested it in. Would it be possible for you to try it out in Pistol Whip or Pavlov by any chance?
There are some artefacts on the grip, my first PLA print cracked on this line putting the slide in.. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53835206944_aeab523ec7_c.jpg
this picture is a second PETG print still some holes can be seen at the same spot and in the bambu slicer too. Using 3 walls, 5% infill.
I can try to make a video and upload trying to show angles, so maybe it can be updated for the pro model. Both horizontal and vertical axis need to be adjusted.
Pistol whip has autoaim, so indeed people might not even notice. I wanted it for Breachers though. I had a similar grip from AMVR for my Pico and I did like extra weight and physical feel helping to faster acquire targets but for that it need to have correct horizontal alignment.
I did more testing, so virtual pointer is always twisted to the left. Probably by 8 degrees.
Breachers show 8 degrees to correct.
Pistol Whip shows 6 clicks to fix twist + moving whole pistol on X axis.
Here is a video showing meta, steam menus and breachers, pistol whip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeKSIW05fHY
The aiming angle was the biggest hurdle I had making this model for Q3 because Meta messed it up big time.
Q3 controllers are the same shape and size as Q2 controllers and they fit perfectly into my older, Quest 2 pistol grip as well. But in the Q2 model with new controllers, the virtual gun is pointing to the left about twice as much as on the picture you posted, even though with Q2 controllers it's straight as an arrow. So they just went and changed the pointer angle in the software for whatever reason. To fix that I had to keep twisting and turning the controller in the model to compensate for that and I don't think I can push it any further without making the grip much thicker (because the controllers are already almost sideways).
I'm currently on holidays with no access to my pc and printer so I can't say for sure that it can't be fixed but the way I remember it - to get the perfect alignment I'd have to make the grip thicker.
So I decided to get it aligned as much as possible while keeping the realistic dimensions of the pistol, since most of the games will allow you to adjust the angle in settings anyway. Even with Quest 3 controllers, the angle is slightly off but close enough to not get in the way for most people in default settings.
Appreciate all the testing you've done! I can definitely get that hole from first pic patched up when I come back home, as for any cracking issues - I never had any and I've even done some drop tests. PLA+ is the way to go.
Can all the other problems you mentioned be fixed in game settings by adjusting offsets then?
Yes, I even had a whole video how bad Quest 3 is for shooters https://www.youtube.com/shorts/IXZLJ6vMxvQ
My PLA filament is old but there is a weak spot by design/slicing too.
Twisting controller will cover 2 cameras.. so a new grip design is needed for the Pro controller.
I have an idea for an organic handle with tree like structures around cameras. Plus ability to attach a gun stock at the bottom (similar to Ultralight VR Gunstock) would make it perfect for Breachers.
All right, I'll look into the weak spot when I'm back. I've actually been working on a rifle design for the last 4-5 months and I feel I'm pretty much there. https://youtube.com/shorts/Ag1xn3aKByM
Thought it would be cool to integrate the pistol grip into the design, but being able to take it in and out while playing (to swap between main and side weapon) would be even cooler.
The main issue with designing a new model for Quest Pro is that I don't own the headset and have no way to test it, and the way I make my pistol grips is literally printing, testing the fit, changing few things and printing again, I'm going through dozens of prototypes for each grip so owning the controller is a must.
That's already a full gun stock. :) I had in mind just a tiny pistol stock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vq5PAdGkNGQ
Which is easy to model even for myself.. but the Pro grip needs to be fixed first and I'm not sure if I have skill or time. Though I know Steam has an exact 3D model of Pro controller in files. And I could help to test updated Pro grip.
Are there any plans to make a Quest 3 version of the pistol grips?
Hi, I have the Q3 version ready, it will be available in a couple of days
That is awesome. Will grab the model as soon as I see it. I am excited. I had a set of Glock grips for Q2 but have not been able to find anything comparable for the 3 yet. My stats are hurting holding my hand weird to shoot lol :)
Yeah I totally get that. Q3 controllers aiming angle is completely messed up compared to previous two. My Quest 2 grip technically fits Quest 3 controllers as well but the gun in game is pointing way to the left and down even though it's dead center with Quest 2 controllers. Took quite a bit of adjusting, twisting and turning the controller inside the grip to get this one right. Went ahead and uploaded the files now :)
if i pay you $50 collars can you make modification on the gun so it does like blowback. like rubber band where when you press the trigger it sprint back. can you do it?
That's an interesting idea, it's not something I've ever done before so it will require a bit of research and testing. I'm currently working on a rifle for Quest 3 so it may take a while before I can fully focus on your idea but I'll definitely look into it!
im really interested in this how can we talk . i have a proposal.
Hi! Sorry it took so long but I finally found some time to work on the model! Check out my newest upload
if you like that abd given your honesty demonstrated so far you will Love what my engineering brain has on the other drawing board ;)
and uts not based of fitting a remote into a frame ;) commercial in confidence thou
hey i just saw you're design can i have consent to list this on my eBay??? if yes that would be awesome if not no worries.
