Hi thanks for your reply ho no not at the moment in the new year at some point it was a thought as a second hand hornby mk1 which can chop I as thinking of a couple of things may be interested to do at some point having a go at 3d editing from the free software and got a 3d printer new but not got the time. The mk1 just the side s of the couch then fitting to the one that I got.

Hi sorry to bother you is possible to yoy convert one mk1 to a post office mk1 couch thanks tt gauge

Hi Paul - I'd love to do some of the post office stock but I haven't got time at the moment.

Hi, planning a large scale Class 55 Deltic in Gauge 3, 1:22.6 scale. Would the body be suitable to scale up to this size? When would you be doing the bogies for this one? I would need to make the body in several parts, so would the CAD files be editable. Many thanks, Cliff Barker Model Railways

Hello, my files are .stl's so probably not editable in any CAD sense. (I use blender)

I have seen one of my mk2 coaches scaled up to gauge 1 and it looked very nice. The wall thickness may become a bit hefty at gauge 3, and you would probably want to add more detail.

I'm currently working on a gauge 1 class 66. It's taking a while, and tying up a lot of other projects. But its fun, mostly.

Afterwards, however, I do plan on overhauling the 55 for gauge 1 using the same running gear. This may be more useful to you, but I couldn't say when that would happen.

The gauge 1 Deltic would be released this as a different model. I might add simplified bogie sides and chassis to this version.

Hi, is there a possibility of putting the bogie files from the Mk11 coaches on the class 312 download please?

Yes, I can add those. It will have to be tomorrow now as I have a young sparrow sleeping next to my computer and have had to turn all the downstairs lights off...

That's fine, thank you

Done!

Thanks very much I will be buying the files later. We built these at York so quite appropriate for me but modellers license means I may be doing the unit in green lol.

Fantastic. They are going to look great in green. It is my intention to go back and do some chassis files for these, as I did with the 313. I have been distracted by life, and other projects, but I do mean to come back to it.

I have downloaded the files now thank you and sent them to a friend to hopefully print them. I will make underfames from plastic or something and hopefully one of my spare Halling bogies will fit.

I think a Halling bogie would be a suitable candidate. I have some gears lying around that I was going to try and fashion into something physically compatible with the Halling motor block. The bogie parts are arranged as a frame and the two sides - so hopefully you can use those sides with a Halling.

When I fitted my BX1 bogie sides to the ICE3 powered bogie for the 313, I needed to thin them down a bit. I just rubbed them down on a file, and stuck them on with T-7000 superglue.

Hello. About the rebault car. Does it cames for 1/64? If not how do i scale to 1/64?

Hi. I don't have a Renault. Did you mean the Peugeot 504? That's 1/120 scale so you will need to scale it up by 1.875 (187.5%).

I was wondering if you can do the printing I do not have a 3D printer at this time

Sorry, I'm not able to offer a print service at present.

hi thank you for your e mail back i have printed the motor rise chassis but lost the detail so redoing the bottom. may i ask for a list of part numbers and supplies for motor etca thanks. i have been reading your article thoued interesting

Piko 47007 is the model I used.

You could try and order the parts you need from Piko. The manual with part numbers is here https://www.piko-shop.de/en/artikel/tt-ice3-db-v,-new-road-number-13933.html

At a glance it looks like the minimum you would need are 2 complete gearboxes (47007-127), motor complete (47007-125), 2 Wheel contacts (47007-131), 4 Wheelsets 47005-32, Pantograph (46150).

I give no guarantee that that list is complete, or even correct. I found it easier to buy a complete 47007 ICE3 and sold the bodies on ebay. It probably wasn't much more expensive either - although, I needed the chassis. At the time, I was considering the possibility of cutting down the ice3 chassis. I didn't do that in the end... but it was invaluable having one to hand when I designed my chassis. Without the metal chassis, maybe buying the spares is more cost effective?

There's a bit of DIY involved mounting the contacts to the gearboxes, I used T7000 adhesive - a grim smelling superglue used to repair mobile phone screens.

Another alternative might be Halling bogies? Halling were in difficulties last year, but seem to have them back in stock now; https://shop.ferro-train.com/HallingShop/Article/ANT-ALX-210-H0M

CLASS 313 EMU. TT120 does this with full instructions for what you need to get like what motor gears wheels etc thank you

Hi. Thanks for your interest. No, sorry, I haven't written any instructions for the 313, but I made the chassis file free to experiment with. I used an ICE3 motor, bogies and gears for my model. I am thinking about making a TT motor bogie for my 312's, but due to the effort required to document and support it I may not release it. Supply of gears and wheelsets can be somewhat ephemeral. If I publish a bill of materials, I'd have to keep it up to date... a job of work I feel loath to undertake at present.

Hello interested to buy your file, is it HO or OO ( to rezise it ) I have bambu lab X1C, I suppose it is compatible. Best regards

Hello. I'm not sure which file you are looking at but all my rail models are TT (1:120) . I use a bambu labs P1S with a 0.2mm nozzle, but some of my older prints were in resin.

If you have a look at the coaches and the 03 shunter, these were are all printed on the P1S.

thank you for this prompt answer, I am looking mk1 coach restaurant

Yes, the RBR and RKB were both printed on my P1S. What scale would you be printing at? I have seen bigger prints of my coaching stock on FDM printers, some very big, but the only prints I have seen in N or 2mm have been with resin SLA.

I want to print it in HO scale 1/87 if it is in OO scale I can make the downsizing

That would be fine. As above, it's TT - so you want to upsize by 138%for HO

Great thank you very much

It's printing ;-)

Excellent! Thanks for your purchase - If I had a bit more space, I'd be printing them in HO myself.

printed ! quite a good result

Hey Michael,

Do you have the taillight lenses and side steps for the Toyota Hilux Arctic? All the other files look awesome but didn't see those included and seen the side steps in one of the previews.

Best Regards,
Dustin

Hi Dustin. Sorry, they should have been in the download. I'll have a look for them tomorrow.

Hey Michael, I greatly appreciate that! I also noticed the bed liner doesn't have the Toyota emblem like the one picture, but there is a bed liner file present. Do you also have the emblem version? Thanks again for you help. Nicely done on the model and all the details!

Yes, I did the emblem version first. I had collected a lot of photos of the AT38 and couldn't see the linier so I just based it on a Vigo liner I saw on eBay! (great place for photos of car parts) However, Arctic Trucks kindly sent me some photos of the AT38 and I could see they had used a different bed liner so I had to remodel it. It took me a while to find the old file but it should be there now, along with the side steps and the rear light lenses. Just a word of warning regarding the steps. They were designed to fit my weird extended WPL chassis/interior, and will probably need a bit of work to fit other chassis.

Thank you for getting the updated files! You did amazing work on recreating the AT38 and that's awesome that they provided the photos of the bed liner they used. In the pictures I've seen of the AT38, you aren't able to see that part of the bed. I'll be scaling the files up some and expect some modification to fit my custom crawler. The first scaled version I was a little off on the bed. When I get it fitted, I'll be sure to share some print photos on here. Thank you again for being easy to work with!

Thanks, it's been fun working on it. Arctic Trucks themselves have been really helpful , they took some great images to work from. This filled in a lot of the missing pieces for me - and I had scraped a lot of AT38 images from the internet. This is a true scale model, meaning I haven't stretched or distorted it for any particular chassis. If you are working at 1/10 it should come up as 308mm wheelbase (the real one is 3085mm). I slightly regret not making mine larger. 1/14 is a fun size, but the WPL parts are not great. Look forward to seeing your build. Maybe I'll scale one up too one day, but I don't really have the time/money/space at the moment to start another big crawler. I already have a 1/10 scratch built '72 Hilux, and that always seems to need more work on it.

Your Deltic looks superb, could you sell me one printed in TT 100 3mm size .? I know you are selling files here but I don't have a 3d printer.
Thanks
Andy

Thanks. Sorry, I don't sell prints anymore. Have you tried Lincoln Locos?

Yes I have one of their Deltics, I just would like one of your version with blanked off Headcode, I will have to buy your file and find someone to print it.

Thanks
Andy

Ah, I see. My references were very much circa 1980. Someone else is using a service called SurfaceScan to print my NIR class 80, but they had it printed yet so they isn't much of a recommendation. There's a 3d printing thread on RMweb you could ask on, and a Facebook group for 3d printing railways that could be worth a try.

Hi there, I downloaded your 80 Class DEMU and it looks absolutely amazing!
I have two questions if you don't mind answering?

What sort of 'chassis' or underframe would this fit?
I'm using a 3D printing service, what material would be best to print this in? i.e SLA etc.

Many thanks.

Hello, and thank you! What scale are you intending to print the bodies? I can ask around and see what other people have used.

I have used SLA print services for some of my models and the basic white resin was pretty good. I can't say which resin it was, as JLCPCB seem to have changed all their materials.

They generally state typical applications for their materials though. Look for a balance of detail and toughness.

I scaled the models up to OO 1:76 scale, was thinking that a MK2 underframe may work

Yes, I guess that would be the obvious choice for the trailers. I'm not sure about the power car though.

Maybe look at a HST power car, as apparently this has been suggested at shows. Alternatively, something like the black beetle motor bogies on the MK2 coach chassis.

Thankyou so much. Do you think you could list the underframe and bogeys from your previous MK2? https://fbi.cults3d.com/uploaders/25688299/illustration-file/041ae133-1f9e-435c-966d-ff322a224b99/British-Rail-Coach-chassis.jpg

I've added the MK2 coach chassis to the NIR class 80 download, so you should be able to pick it up there. By the way, which print service are you using?

Thankyou so much.
I'm using SurfaceScan. I'm not sure if there's any better or worse sites as 3D printing is new to me

Ok, Let me know how you get on!

Hi. Can you create some Figures for me?
I net for me Anime Themen Truck DBZ figures.

Thanks & a nice Day

Hello. Sorry I don't have much time to take on commissions at the moment.

I really like your designs and intend to purchase them, but I have a couple of questions before I do. First, how can I convert the designs to HO scale? Second, do you offer a flat chassis option without any design elements. I'm working on a 4-piece motorized TGV train set and I'm finding it difficult to source the correct bogies and chassis TGV's signature swinging connector, especially from the US where access to European train parts is limited and costly (shipping can be exorbitant) so I'm relying on 3D printing to complete my project. I've looked at other designers (like ccjr) but haven't found what I need.

Thanks. Conversion to HO scale is simple. You need to scale my models by 1.38 or 138%. (I'm working in 1:120 => 120/87 = 1.37931)

I understand well. I used to sell physical prints, but shipping costs to US and Europe killed my Etsy store. My MK2 coaches (A's and D's) both have a flat chassis, but no couplings yet. I am working on a swung coupling mechanism for my mk2 coaches based on the Hornby kinematic coupling in a 'print friendly' form... but it isn't ready yet.

The MK1 brake and restaurant coaches do have working couplings. These are also based on the Hornby TT120 Mk1 coaches and swing on a sprung cam arm. Scaling the mechanism should be fine, but the NEM pockets will come out a funny size.

The class 313 EMU doesn't have couplings, and the chassis files are free if you want to take a look. "TT120 scale chassis files for class 313 EMU". The motorised chassis probably won't be of interest, as it is designed specifically to accept Piko 1:120 ICE3 bogies. However, the trailer second chassis is very similar to my Mk2 coach chassis.

That's about all I have right now. If any of these are of use to you, I can easily remove the under chassis details and correct the length/wheelbase.

hi there got a slight problem with the bogies printing in n scale seems they are too small to print the bodies of the mk2ds are fine.

Hello, sorry to hear you're having problems with bogies. Are you using filament or resin... and if filament, what size nozzle do you have? It would be helpful for me to see how they failed, are you on rmweb?

Yeah on there nigelbpool

Excellent - I'll send you a message there. I am in the process of overhauling the bogie design, and I'm pretty confident we can get these printed in N.

Thanks for the latest update Michael. Much apreciated.

no problem!

Which software do you use for your modelling? I'm just starting out in the real CAD world doing O Gauge stuff and your designs are fantastic so whatever software you are using seems to do the job! Still working on converting one of your mk2d to a DBSO as the one on printables is far from printable lol😂

Oh dear! I hadn't looked at the DBSO myself, it's not one on my 'short list'. Thanks for the compliment. My Mk2D's, and everything else I do, are created in Blender. It's notoriously hard to learn and, from my own experience, I can't deny that but it's an amazing application once you make it through the wall.

Hey bud, really enjoying your prints and when searching for a DBSO on Google it brought me to your page but the file has been removed. Will you be looking to upload this again in the future?

Hello, I haven't modelled the British Rail DBSO, but there's a free one on printables.

Hi there i am new to 3d printing and would like to know how would i upscale one ok the mk2 packs to n gauge?

Hi, for n your will want to scale these at 81%. (120/148*100) If you are on Facebook, you might find the '3D Printed British Railways' group helpful. I'm also on the RMweb forum; where these coaches have a thread in the tt120 area... but there's a whole area there for printing rail too.

yep the 450s have the ribs running the length of the roof. I will be over at the Ulster Model Railway Club tonight which amazingly is open on the 11th night. How many people will dodge the parades and bonfires to go will be intersting to see. I will see if any of the books there have drawings. I have Colm Fannagan's book on diesel railcars in Ulster ut am not sure if it had detailed drawings. I know I have some for the modern CAF units.

Hi Michael,
I hear you about posting you email on here as I am wary of bots, etc. Look me up on RMWeb and send me a post there and I will respond with my email address on it. Glad to heaar you might be interested in these, but I amware its only a might and that like the rest of us this is really a hobby where we do stff for ourselves and make it available for others rather than seeking the work. You can find me via this page https://www.rmweb.co.uk/forums/topic/182716-big-4-pre-nationalization-container-diagrams/ posting as Carlislecitadel2

That's great - I'm on there too. Mostly in the TT120 area. I'll drop you a line later.

Hello again,
Just seeing your Mk2s. Northern Ireland Railways used the Mk2 bodyshell for a very successful DMU known as the 80 class. I have plans for these if you were interested in making that. It would be popular among Irish modellers as some were used on loan by CIE as well and they carried several different liveries in their lifetime.

All the best,
Stephen

Hi Stephen, this one has peaked my interest - it's out of my area, but has a rich history. I'll also be doing the Mk2 based class 312 at some point for my own needs, so I can fit it in with that work. I'm weary of posting my email address on here. Could you send me a message on Instagram or Facebook? Otherwise I can set up a temporary email.

I'm having a look at the NIR 450. It's based on a Mk3 coach which I haven't modelled yet, so there's quite a bit of work there. If you have the plans, and it's going to be a useful model for people then I will happily have a look at it. I just can't promise it will appear any time soon.

I tried selling painted models. Even painting them up in batches they added up to quite a silly amount of money very quickly, so I will cast no judgement on our One Trader. I don't even sell unpainted prints now, as I just can't do it efficiently enough. By the time I'd taken off the Etsy charges and the shipping, the thing wasn't worth doing.

Kind Regards, Michael

Hi,
I saw your files for the 303 and I think these body shells also formed the basis for the Northern Ireland Railways 450 class DMUs. If I could get you plans, would you be interested in making that variant? I personally do not model NIR but several friends in the Ulster Model Railway Club do try and one of the biggest problems is the lack of suitable stock, although Accurascale have made a NIR GM and now the M2 coaches used on the Enterprise train. One trader gets some British stock that looks similar o NIR models repainted and those items sell for, in my opinion, silly money, though all railway stock has increased i price recently I suppose. Anyhow, let me know if this is of intrest to you and I will try and did out the plans.

Im not well enough up on BR DMUs post 1970. I kow the NIR 450s were based on 64' Mk3 shells and had assumed, as they are so like the 303s that it must be as well as the bodywork came from BREL. My mate, who is more into modern BR back when the 450s apeared on the scene, said they were based on an British EMU and I thought it was the 303.

I don't know anything about the NIR 450, but I have done quite a bit of research on the PEPs (313,314,315,505,508). It may be the NIR 450 is based on the 317, which also uses the mk3 body. The body profile of those PEPs looks quite similar to the mk3, but I would have to look at a drawing to be sure. The roof is different though, with the mk3 having those ridges along it.

So I bought an a
Anycubic just for this action figure. So is it already slice for the anacuba?

No, you will to slice it. I use the anycubic workshop.

Do you have a solid one girl driver truck?

Hi. Sorry, I don't do a solid one. I split the arms and legs so the model can be adjusted for different vehicles.
