Snapmaker Quick Change Bracket

This Quick Change bracket set is designed to address the tedious process of unbolting Snapmaker toolheads when switching between functions (3D printing / CNC / LASER engraving).

It is designed to be as compact as possible making it ideal for use within cramped spaces such as enclosures or tight working areas. Toolhead changeout can be carried out easily, onehanded and within a few seconds. Toolheads are held securely in place and will not wobble or detach.

For increased functionality, the Base replicates bolt holes on the carrier plate but slightly smaller so that they may act as a psuedo nut when attaching 3rd party accessories. For even more flexibility, an additional column either side plus an additional top row of holes have been added, making 34 possible attachment points (20 original + 14 added) (the release arm renders another 4 unusable).

Attachable 3rd party accessories MIGHT include (but not limited to) dust & debris extraction, dust boots, filament guides, lighting, cameras, cable chain anchoring points etc. Note that this design is a part of the FLEXI range, a family of dedicated accessories for the Snapmaker 2.0 A350. Other accessories will be released as they become available.

Using this QC bracket set will project the toolhead forward approximately 10mm. It is not anticipated that this will pose a problem unless the piece being worked is close to the forward edge of the workspace. Attaching this QC bracket set should not alter existing auto-levelling calibration.

To equip a toolhead simply align the Adapter with the rails of the Base and slide downwards until it clicks. To release, simply grip the toolhead either side leaving your index finger free on top to depress the release tab and slide upwards.

The Base should be attached by the supplied 4 x M4*10 bolts. However 4 x M4*5 bolts will be required for each Adaptor.

Addendum Jan 2023
Minor upgrade 1.1 now available. This relocates the locking catch higher and swaps it onto the release arm. This has several advantages:
- release arm is stronger due to increased thickness
- eliminates a potential weak point (the hole for the catch)
- release tab does not need to be depressed as deeply to release

The lower edge of the Adaptor has also been truncated for easy pass-through.

This QC bracket set was designed for Snapmaker 2.0 machines and was not compatibility tested for other versions or models of Snapmaker.
