Scale Model Airplane - Painting Stand / Jig - V 3.0

This is a major re-design, of my Scale Model Airplane - Painting Stands / Jigs (V.2.0 and V.1.0)

This is a fully adjustable stand for painting scale model airplanes. It can accommodate model planes in scales 1/72 and 1/48 scale, or larger (tested with a 1/24 Spitfire and a 1/24 Bf109).

The overall height of the stand is low, so that it can be used inside a spray booth without issues.

Using the 3 head extensions, the height and/or angle can be adjusted further. The extensions can also be useful when building a biplane, to support both sets of wings.

The triscele base is redesigned
- 3 base sizes are included: 110mm, 160mm and 210mm radius.
- Each leg can be printed separately. This allows for longer legs, as previously the base size was limited by the size of the printer bed.
- That said, one-piece versions of the base are also included, so that you can print them instead, if your printer bed is large enough.
- The base is designed to fit snuggly on the small turntables (192mm diameter) that are usually included with paint booths.

The vertical axes have been redesigned
- They now use larger thumbscrews (M6 instead of M3) to make adjustments easier.
- Even with the new larger thumbscrews, the horizontal footprint of the vertical axes has been reduced.
- I personally prefer that the vertical axis don't revolve horizontally, so I have added notches at the bottom. In case you don't, you can print the "universal" version that comes without a notch.
- By removing the heads and inserting 3mm screws on top of the vertical axis, can use the landing gear bays of the model plane as contact points to the stand (so that the freshly painted bottom of the plane does not touch the stand).

The heads are mostly the same as the V.2.0 design
- They have been modified to fit the new vertical axes.
- The head extensions are the same as the V.2.0. They still use small M3 thumbscrews to avoid interference with the scale model.

Movement Limits:
- Horizontal, per axis (110mm arm): 30mm - 100mm
- Horizontal, per axis (160mm arm): 30mm - 150mm
- Horizontal, per axis (210mm arm): 30mm - 200mm
- Vertical: 67mm - 100mm
- Vertical (using the extensions): 75mm - 168mm
