The 3D printer filament jam sensor, is essentially an addon to the standard filament sensor. The electronic part of the filament sensor is inserted into the housing of the filament jam sensor.

The filament jam sensor has two functions. The first function is a classic filament sensor. The second function is to detect when the filament is stuck on the spool or on the path of the filament on its way to the extruder.

The sensor has two settings. One allows you to adapt the sensor to the electronics module you install in it. The second setting allows you to set the necessary force to trigger the sensor in case of filament jamming and eliminate false triggering.

The sensor is not capable of triggering a jam in the extruder, but in case of filament jamming, it will pause printing until underextrusion starts.

The archive contains STL files as well as solidworks source files including the build file. The video shows how to assemble the sensor and how to mount it on the printer.
