Trellis Tepee #4 (7 Stick)

A tepee-style trellis offers a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing way to support climbing vegetables and flowers like tomatoes, peas, beans, and morning glories. Its conical shape provides excellent stability and allows for good air circulation around the plants, promoting healthy growth.

The structure is formed by seven poles that converge at a central cap. This cap acts as the apex of the tepee, holding the poles securely in place. The cap can be designed with or without pre-drilled holes for screws, offering flexibility in how it's secured to the poles. If screw holes are present, you can easily fasten the poles to the cap for added rigidity and stability.

To guide the climbing plants, a system of clips is used to create a framework for string or twine. These clips fasten to the poles and feature holes through which string can be threaded. The string is then run around the "trunk" of the trellis, encircling the plant stems and providing vertical support as they grow upwards.

Among the various clips, there are distinct designs for different attachment methods. One type is a plain, regular clip that likely uses a simple clamping or snap mechanism to attach to the poles. The other two clip types are designed for easier, screw-free installation. These clips incorporate inside dowels that can be inserted into pre-drilled holes in the poles. If you drill either a 1/2-inch or 1/4-inch hole into your poles, these specialized clips can be securely attached without the need for screws, offering a convenient and quick setup. This dowel-and-hole system allows for easy repositioning or removal of the clips as needed throughout the growing season, providing flexibility as your plants mature.

I printed this cap on a K1 Max A.I Creality FDM printer without supports at %100 speed, No Brim, 2mm Bottom and Top Shell Thickness. I uses Elegoo PLA +Plus. I suggest printing Clips %100 Sparse infill density and the Cap you can use the standard %15 or %100 if you desire. Print in UV protective PLA or your choice of Plastic, and think about Spraying it with a UV protective paint if you are in a very hot country. Here in Ontario Canada I just used regular PLA and will watch it for the next few years to see if it is greatly affected or not.
