SR Kite VTOL

The SR Kite is the 3rd major design from Swale Ridge intended for 3d printing. It is a professional grade platform of almost 2 mts span for surveillance, experimentation, electronic testing. The previous Merlin model is in use by a number of universities for evaluation.
It can be printed using standard (not lightweight) filaments and best results have been obtained with standard ABS.
The current version is using a Li-ion 21700 pack of 5s 20Ah and will loiter for well over an hour. Current weight is 4.3Kg and it is expected to easily take a 1kg payload. Flight testing is on-going and further improvements will be posted. At 4.3kg the stall speed is around 12m/s and max level tested at 32m/s but loiter from 16-22 recommended.

All print files are presented in 3mf format. These contain all print settings. Most major parts have many modifier regions where the settings change (walls and infill) for reinforcement.
The STLs can be exported from the slicer to be printed in another way, however all the settings will be lost.
Many large parts have single or double layer 'print pads' to help prevent warping. These need to be trimmed off.
