Jet Engine

This is a very challenging replica model of the Pratt & Whitney F100 series jet engine used in both the F-15 & F-16. Also it has some similar design features compared to the General Electric series Jet Engines.

This is modular design concept, incorporates a dual scroll 13 stage axial flow compressor followed by a 2 stage turbine section, with a variable convergent divergent nozzle. RPMs powered by a hidden brushless motor in the rear section directly connected to the rear turbine. Capable to reach upwards of 16k RPM with the PLA blades, there is the possible risk of blade failure**.

Mechanical linkage sections on the Augmentor Nozzle assembly was fastened together by using PLA filament riveted to act as pivoting pins/joints.

This model took almost a year of design and adjustments, be warned it will require an extreme amount of sanding and filing to keep the clearances between the moving assemblies at a minimum.

I will also be uploading separate files for the trailer assembly for display purposes, and the control box for housing the electronics.

8mm OD x 5mm ID x 300mm L aluminum tube.
5ea 608 ceramic bearings.

Printed with PLA at normal settings. Rotors and Stator assemblies may require Brim Plate Adhesion for minimal print failure with the individual blades. Files could possibly be resin printed (higher risk of blades shattering at higher RPM settings).
