Hi - I'm starting a 1/32 scale F-16 soon and I'm thinking about a GBU bomb load with a laser designator. Do you happen to know how your LITENING pod was mounted on an F-16? Thanks in advance!

Hi Dee I have printed out your beautiful horten 1/10. Please could you give more info about how the servo operates the drag rudders. Do you just use a large two-way servo arm orientated horizontally that pushes the rudders outwards when it is orientated vertically? This is the only way I could think to do it but want to check I am not missing something critical . Thanks v much Matt

Hi Matt. This is correct. Use a long 2-way servo arm and set to be parallel, or slightly angled so they are almost touching the drag rudders when the stick is dead centered. Then when you apply rudder, it rotates and pushes them open.

Fab thanks so much. I have gone for as light as possible with wings all LW-PLA. About to do ABS with single will and will put on a catapult with no LG. Let you know how it goes. Thanks again for this model it looks superb

Hi buddy. I got me your Horten but have some troubles to add modifiers in wing parts (wing6 port). This section loads up side down on the wing tip and after turning around the wing the modifier won't work. I tried Bambo slicer, Prusa Slicer and Cura, all gives me the same result, no infill, no extra wall. Is there a option to get this done right?
Regards John

Hi John,
To add the modifiers, first use "lay on Face" option so the wing part is laying flat on the fave that would butt up against the fuselage, then you can add the height range modifiers. Here is a like showing how to add multiple ranges:
https://forum.bambulab.com/t/multiple-height-range-modifiers-on-a-single-object/49687/2

I'm giving up, infill doesn't show up, even without any modifiers. Permitters can't be changed, still printing 2 layers. I can't figure out what im doing wrong.
Thanks anyway.
Regards John

I understand now. To clarify, this design is made in a way that a majority of the walls are shelled to be 0.8-1.2mm in thickness. So when you only see 2 -perimeters being printed, that is correct. Those infill modifiers are only for very localized sections of the model, sometimes to make it look a bit cleaner from reduced travel movements.

This model is not like a lot of the other plane designs that require infill to give you the strength for the parts. I designed all the structure.

Hi, do you allow your prints to be sold for commercial use?

Hi. my designed have been labeled with a "Private Use " license.

Do you happen to know if the Freewing 90mm F15C mains will work with the 1/10 HO-229? I noticed as I am in the pre planning stages that the SU-35 is no longer available nor, replacement parts easy to find, and the consensus seems that the F15 gear is a drop in upgrade for that aircraft. I assume because of that, they would also fit the Horten?

I am not sure about the F-15 main gear, but I can confirm that the ME-262 are a direct fit.

Also, my original horten crashed 2 years ago and I have kept the electronics. If you are interested, I can sell you the landing gear, EDFs and ESC. drop a contact and I can reach out if you are interested.

Dear Dirtydee,

I am astonished and therefore very interested in buying your A330-300 RC model.

Here is my problem: I am building this as my school graduation project. The problem is that neither my school nor my parents want to pay for the price of the file, so I unfortunately have to buy this model by myself, so I wanted to kindly ask if there is a chance I could get it for a bit cheaper, maybe? Not by much, but even a small reduction would really help me out.

Take your time thinking about it; I'd love to hear from you again!

Best regards
@neviolito2

that was too high of a gain setting for the gyro. IT went away subsequent flights when I dialed it down.

Subject: EDF Components Compatible With Your Models – Collaboration Proposal

Hello,

I design modular, print‑friendly EDF components optimized for 3D‑printed RC jets (mounts, ducts, vector nozzles, reinforcements, and lightweight structural parts).

I’m currently expanding my EDF line and I would be interested in making some of these components compatible with your models.

If you are open to it, I can prepare custom versions adapted to your airframe geometry, or provide standardized parts that your users can easily integrate.

No obligations — just a technical collaboration that could add value to your designs and offer more options to your community.

If this sounds interesting, I can send a short overview of the available components.

Best regards,

I‑ObjectS

Hello. If you are interested to provide compatibility, the easiest way is to model your housings to match the same dimensions as Xfly EDFs. This airbus is compatible with the 64 and 70mm, while some of my others use the 40-50mm xflys.

Their cutsheets provide dimension data, so they are easy to model.

Hi, would it be possible to upload an STL file of the entire airplane without the individual parts—a single STL file of the assembled airplane? (This would help me with assembly and printing.)

I'm working on version 200.

Thank you very much!

Hi. Unfortunately, I lost access to the design software I used for the model, so I am unable to export any new STLs.

Hi DirtyDee,
I downloaded your A330 tail section files, but when I try to make one change ( speed. ) in Bambu studio, the piece disappears from the table. Is this normal?
If I buy the files, the same thing will happen?
"I have a P1s.
Regards

i think what is happening is that you have the "preview" window open, so it disappears from the plate from changing the slicing settings. If you hit the "slice plate" button again, it will show again, or you can click on "prepare" to see the plates with the STLs

OK.
Thank you.

Yo would there be any way you can send me the step files for the winglet, rudder, and engine nacelles for the a330? I purchased it, and I would like to redesign them for the 900 neo so I can make a Cathay a330 900 neo. Cheers

if you provide me an email, I can send it over. Do note that this message inbox is public-facing, so it might be worth deleting it a few hours after posting. Otherwise, if you have instagram, you can private message me at dirtydee.rc

Hi,
I was wondering where you sourced the decals for your design?

Thanks for your time

Cheers

Hello. Callie Graphics is who I used for my design

Hi DirtyDee, I bought your Mini Horten 2023 file from RC3Dmarket, but some of the files are now defective (hatch).

Could you please send me the files again?

Order Invoice Number O8531345297-S0001 at rc3Dmarket.

Thanks in advance, Michael

Hello, I have EDF Ducted Fan JP Hobby 70mm that I purchased last year for the 330. Do you have an amended file for the narcelles? Can you also do a 330 neo narcelle and wingtips?Regards Russ

Good Morning,

I am looking at your model to print for a large display in my office. Does the file include recommended print setting for PLA or if planning on building to hang from the ceiling? I am new to printing and will be using a CX1 from Bambu.

Thank you,

If you download the free test files, you can look through the assembly manuals and give some test prints a try. There are general PLA settings, but even the standard Bambu lab presets should work too.

Thank you for your reply.

Hello,
I have a question concerning the Buckeye.
Is it possible to print the fuselage, wings and tail with LW-PLA or LW-PLA-HT?
Regards Florian

Hi. Yes, it should be possible. Though I suggest testing various foaming levels as if you maximize the foaming, it might become much too flexible.

Thank you very much.
Have you ever tried to takeoff and landing from grass?

Which is the best EDF System for the Buckeye from your point view? The Schuebeler with 12S?

I have not taken off from grass, but there is a high likelihood that the printed struts will not work. I know one builder who used a lathe to make aluminum tubes and kept the printed forks, and it held up in grass.

Regarding the EDFs, the schuebeler on 12 worked well, and I have seen good results with a JF-80 V3 edf with the HET 700-60-1738 on 8S. If you are interested, I have my original schubeler unit for sale, as well as the ESC:

Hello,
I have printed and assembled the fuse / rudder inclusive formers, NLG bulkhead and nose gear mount. Fuse printed in colorfabb LW-PLA. Only the fuselage 2B part in Bambulab PLA tough+. Formers and NLG bulkhead in Bambulab PLA-CF.
Wight is 960g.
I think the wight should be ok so far.
I have posted some pics in your Buckeye build blog in rcgroups.

Very nice work! Yes, I think the weight should be ok.

I really like your 3D models. I've been using several of them in my 1/15th scale OA-1K Skyraider II scratch build which you can view on my website @: https://balsaandglass.com/Balsa_Builds.html#OA-1K. I just downloaded your BRU-42 triple ejector rack to use with some GBU-53/B SDB II models I'm printed. These will be used on the OA-1K along with all the ordinances shown on my website. Keep up the great work.

Larry Nieman

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing!

Hi there! I'd like to make a larger model of the Boeing 787. Could you scale up the dimensions for me? I want to build a Boeing 787 model that's 3800 millimeters long.

Hello,
I wanted to know how to attach the servos ?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Sincerely,
Mustapha.

POR UHU glue works well. otherwise for the hatches, they use the supplied screwed that come with the servos.

Hello, I would like to know the number of channels required for a radio control system to operate this A330 aircraft.

Thank you in advance for your reply.
Mustapha.

Bare minimum 7, but recommended 9-12 if you want to separate nose steering from rudder, as well as have independent channels for each aileron and elevator

Thanks !!!

Hi …does „ normal „ retracts ( like from Freewing ) work at the T-2 ? ..i‘am using Bambu Studio for printing ..are there any Problems ? ..Love this plane and the Size is Great..what diameter are the Outlet ?
Gruß from Germany
Matthias

Hello. This requires JP retracts with some modifications, ad the retract needs to move about 88 degrees for the wings, and about 110 for the nose. If you download the free test files, you can read the assembly manual to better understand the work required.

outlet is 78mm, sized for a Schubeler DS-51. there are STLs for JP90, WeMoTec90, Changesun90, as well as Jetfan80. There is a thrust tube reducer if you use the jetfan 80mm.

The model flies well on the JF-80 with the HET 700-60-1738 on 8S. Though a word of caution, since the landing gear are 3d printed, you will not be able to fly from grass. This requires a smooth runway.

I want you send you a picture of the dimensions but I didn't know how

Your can type it out here. What brand is the edf? They might have a dimension drawing posted online too
