Makeβs description
Attempted to print using the presupported model first, but didnt like the outside surface finish left by the support interface. Rotated both pieces to print with open end on build plate and used supports and a brim. This puts all the support interface marks on the inside where you can't see them. It does add a little time and material cost, but it's worth it for the outside to be a nice, even finish.
The threads are generated a bit low poly, not sure if this is on purpose, but it does kinda keep the pieces from threading apart. Threads were tight initially, but working them back and forth a bit wore them in and made it useable. Perhaps cleaning them up a little with a file first would be a good idea.
Support settings: Open end of parts on build plate. Supports from build plate only. 0.2mm Z distance, 0.6mm X/Y distance.
Adhesion settings: Brim. 125% first layer thickness.
