3D model description
The traditional maritime heritage of the Eastern Mediterranean is beautifully defined by elegant, wind-driven cargo vessels like the historic Ottoman Çektirme. Gracing the breezy coastal trade routes of the Aegean, Levantine, and Black Sea coasts for centuries, these sleek wooden merchant ships are celebrated globally for their narrow, hydrodynamic hulls and iconic lateen sail configurations. Closely mirroring the design principles of classic Greek Trehandiri coasters and traditional Mediterranean gulets, this vessel represents the pinnacle of localized wooden shipbuilding designed to efficiently tack against gusty regional winds. Our digital scale model delivers a breathtakingly authentic, high-resolution recreation of this classic merchant vessel. The comprehensive file package comes fully loaded with 41 high-poly STL files alongside an integrated, full-color 3MF data pack that ensures absolute geometric integrity. Engineered with a robust, hollow-hull structure, this kit offers an expansive and rewarding project perfectly suited for radio-controlled (R/C) watercraft conversion or museum-grade static display modeling.

3D printing settings
For a flawless print configuration on standard desktop FDM setups, we recommend utilizing standard filaments like PLA or PETG dialed in at a precise layer height of 0.2mm to 0.25mm to capture the organic wooden plank textures and fine rigging anchors. Elevating your hotend printing temperature slightly (210–220°C for PLA) significantly enhances inter-layer adhesion, providing vital structural strength and waterproofing if you intend to launch the vessel as an active R/C project. The ship is strategically sliced into interlocking hull quadrants, sweeping deckhouses, and dedicated rigging fixtures. We highly advise pre-heating your print bed to a minimum of 60°C to secure uniform bottom layers and prevent lifting or warping on the flat mating surfaces of the hull sections. Importing the comprehensive 3MF file directly into modern slicers like Bambu Studio or PrusaSlicer eliminates localized scale mismatches and retains pre-arranged alignment mapping. Assemble the main interlocking sections using thick CA glue or a marine-grade epoxy matrix. For active R/C water builds, remember to apply a protective, waterproof clear resin or marine sealer across the interior floor and exterior hull seams before adding your custom motor mounts, propeller running gear, and servo linkages.
