SS Edmund Fitzgerald Modular 1.5m long model

Our highly detailed 1.5-meter SS Edmund Fitzgerald model brings the iconic Great Lakes freighter to the desktop with accurate proportions, crisp surface detailing, and a modular structure that makes even this large vessel practical to produce on consumer-grade 3D printers. Designed as a showcase-level build, the model includes separate deck structures, refined hull geometry, and cleanly represented superstructure elements suitable for both display and RC adaptation. The file pack now contains both STL and fully pre-painted 3MF formats, giving builders the choice between classic single-color printing or multi-color production that matches our renderings.

In this latest update, we’ve also added new bonus components to the model pack: various human figurines inspired from the real crew of EF and last but not least, the ship’s bell. It comes in two versions—a scaled miniature designed to be mounted onto the 3D-printed Fitzgerald, and a stand-alone desktop display version measuring 15 cm wide and 12 cm tall for those who’d like a separate keepsake or display piece.

For the best results, we recommend 0.2–0.28 mm layer height, 2–3 wall lines, and standard PLA or PETG depending on the builder’s preference; larger hull sections benefit from 10–15 % infill and slow outer walls for cleaner surfaces. The latest revision introduces flat-bottom deck pieces, a reorganized and more logical part split, two hull options (classic and waterline-split), interior screw-boss joinery, redesigned bow and stern sections, separate railings and lamps, optional post-and-thread railing style, numbered hull pieces for easier alignment. A standard printer with a 22x22x25 print volume is all you need to 3d print this model.
