3D model description
Skull prepared for printing in Vase mode (spiralize outer contour)
Made for Halloween
Can be used for a plant, as a bowl for candies or tealight cover etc.
Easy and rather fast to print, even on low layer height
Original model size is 110x160x100mm
Real life skull size is around 140-150% of this model
Sculpted in Blender 3D
It's simplified, not real anatomical model. Mainly because of the angles for vase mode and my lack of skills or laziness ;)
There is a full skull too (without cutted off top part). Print it with some infill then.

3D printing settings
As it is for vase mode you don't use any supports, infill or top layers.
Use at least few bottom layers to be able to use it as a bowl for candies
Real size skull should be around 140-150% size of the model
I tested it in slicer with 1.0mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height - it looked good
If you will print with highier layers or with even bigger scale check if there is no holes in layer view, especially near nose.
The model is optimized for vase mode but it doesn't mean that you don't need to proper set the slicer for your printer (like nozzle size or cooling) or size of the model.
To avoid any holes in print you have many options:
- Lower layer height
- Use highier flow (easiest way) or bigger nozzle
- Use slower speed (at least around nose part - but it's better to have the same speed on whole print)
- Add more cooling
Every option above will make your print better. Combine few for best quality.
It's still easy and fast to print model so you don't need to rush, take your time with the print.
Printed on Voron 0.1
80%size (good size for tealight)
Nozzle 0.8mm
Layer 0.2mm
Spectrum Filaments - Stone Age PLA
LED candle inside
