3D printed Eurofighter Typhoon Jet with equipment from MotionRC

Hallo. Ich benutze Cura Ultimaker, daher ist mein Setup von Cura, bei dem das berechnete Gewicht nur eine minimale Abweichung im Milligrammbereich von gedruckten Teil hat.
Im Grunde benutze ich in Cura das Standardprofil für PLA aber mit der Druckgeschwindigkeit und Temperatur für LW-PLA von ColorFabb und eben mit verringreter Flowrate.
Beim Infill benutze ich das Füllmuster Gyroid.
Vielleicht hilft dir das schon mal. Mit den Sachen von Bambulab habe ich leider keine Erfahrung.

I am. I'm also using the Bambu aero filament. I ran some test prints on a cube and the slicer is pretty accurate with the weight. I can get this down to about 192g

I don´t understand what you mean with shroud molded.
There is a part to make a lw-pla part for the cockpit lid and a part as a mold to deep drawing the canopy, to make a transparent canopy. :-)

I can't answer that for you because I don't know the dimensions of other manufacturers. The EDFs I used are the ones you can get from MotionRC.

Unfortunately no, printing LW-PLA is just as easy as normal PLA. A test print is not necessary.

The widest parts of the fuselage are 210mm long. If you turn this diagonally on the print bed, your printer should be fine.

Sicherlich kann man die Konstruktion scalieren und damit kleiner machen. Aber spezifische Stellen müssten dann an die neue RC-Ausstatung, wie Impeller oder Fahrwerke angepasst werden, daher trotzdem noch etwas arbeitsintensiv.

Meinst du, den Schacht nur nach hinten um 10mm verlängern? Das wäre nicht sinnvoll, weil sich dann einiges mit dem anderen Bugrad ändert. Denn dann würde die Nase auch weiter nach Oben gerichtet sein, wenn das FW ausgefahren ist. Daher würde ich es nicht empfehlen. Aber sicherlich kannst du die Teile, wenn du willst, selbst konstruktiv anpassen, bevor du sie druckst.

Ja, so wäre es gedacht. STL's anpassen ist so eine Sache. Das neue FW hat eine 5mm Welle und das Bugfahrwerk war der Schwachpunkt bei der ersten EF Version von Freewing. Die etwas höhere Anstellung der Nase nehme ich dafür gerne in Kauf.

Das Verlängern des Schachtes würde sehr tief in die Konstruktion gehen und würde zudem eine neue Ableitung eines neuen Teiles bedeuten. Da ist es einfacher, die bestehende entsprechende STL zu ändern, was weit einfacher wäre.

Also ich benutze zum Bearbeiten von STL Dateien das Programm Metasequoia 3D.
Es ist ein recht einfach zu verstehendes und zu bedienendes Programm, dessen Werkzeuge zwar recht begrenzt sind, aber völlig ausreichend und dadurch einfach zu verwenden, weil es nicht so sehr vollgestopft mit Funktionen ist. Die wichtigsten Arbeitswerkzeuge, die man zumeist braucht, enthält diese Programm, wie jedes andere auch. Damit arbeite ich schon seit rund 17 Jahren, wenn ich Drahtgittermodelle direkt erstellen oder bearbeiten will.
Die Bell222 habe ich z.B. in diesem Programm damals designd.

Ja, es gibt schon einige Erfahrungen mit dem LW-PLA. Ich will demnächst mal ein Beitrag dazu machen, weil ich nun gerade das LW-PLA-HT in Bearbeitung und getestet habe und es schon einige Unterschiede gibt.
Doch prinzipiell ist das Schaumamterial recht einfach zu verarbeiten.
Eine 90er Version ist nicht angedacht. Denn darin sah ich keine nennenswerte Vorteile.

Aus dem Bauch heraus seh ich ein wenig Gewichtsersparnis mit einem 90er Antrieb gegenüber zwei 70er. Hab es aber nicht durchgerechnet.

Ich werde einen kleinen Videobeitrag bezüglich dem Vergleich der beiden Kunststoffsorten machen.
Ich hatte damals auch zwischen einen 90er und zwei 70er hin und her überlegt.
Meines wissens was das Gewicht nahezu gleich zwischen beiden Versionen und auch der Preis war nicht entscheident.
Was den Schub angeht, konnte ich keine Aussage treffen, da ich keine genauere Vergleichsdaten dazu hatte.
Zudem wäre es wegen dem großen Durchmesser recht eng hinten unter dem Seitenleitwerk geworden und auch die Luftkanalführung wäre bei einem 90er etwas ungünstiger.

Die 4.1kg habe ich nach der Montage noch vor dem Finish gemessen und ohne Zusatzteile wie Pylon oder Tanks.
Vielleicht kann man auch noch durch das weitere optimieren des Druckverfahrens noch mehr Gewicht sparen.
Doch bin ich mit den Flugleistungen bei diesem Gewicht mehr als zufrieden, wie man auf den Videos sehen kann.
Da mein Ziel primär der Scalefaktor war.

Der Scalefaktor ist wirklich beachtlich !! Ob man am Gewicht wirklich noch etwas sparen kann ich ohne Daten nicht ermitteln, denke aber die Stabilität sollte darunter nicht leiden . Demnach ist dein Eurofighter schwerer als 4,1kg , was anscheinenend keinen Einfluss auf den Flug hat, ja cool ;)
Gibt es Erfahrungswerte auf Rasen ? Leider ist eine Straßennutzung bei uns nicht möglich .

Naja, es sind nur einige wenige Gramm über 4.1kg. Eben nur die Lackierung.
Auf Rasen konnte ich noch nicht starten. Leider steht mir kein Rasen zur Verfügung.
Das STarten hängt jedoch stark von der Qualität des Rasens ab.
Doch sollte ein Start ähnlich den Eigenschaften anderer Flugzeuge von MotionRC sein.
Wenn du mit einem anderen Flugzeug gleicher Größe von MotionRC von deinem Rasen starten kannst, sollte der Eurofighter das auch schaffen.
Die Stabilität ist jedenfalls kein Problem.

Dankeschön und nein. Jedoch sind die Einstellungen für LW-PLA recht einfach.
Einfach ein Standard-PLA Profil nehmen und die wenigen Parameter nach den Angaben des Herstellers einstellen.
Hat bei mir sofort zum Erfolg geführt.

Hello, the canards only need to be aligned horizontally. But you can also use them later for fine horizontal trimming.
The carbon rod must be fully glued into the fuselage_06. That's all you need to do. This stability is completely sufficient.
Probably no carbon rod would suffice for stability either. I installed it anyway, just to be safe.
But if you feel safer, feel free to add reinforcements.

I also have a question about how to align the canards.
You recommend aligning horizontally, but what do we use as a reference? Do we use the ground? Do we use the wing? Or what other area do we look for as a horizontal reference?

Hello, you use the wing root as reference for alignment of the canards. But I added two more drawings for each side with dimensions for ease of setting.

with my printer with good print quality and a maximum of low weight my printer needs 7 days for Rumpf_05.
it depends on the capabilities of your printer how fast your printer needs to do this.
However, Rumpf_05 and Rumpf_06 are the largest parts and will take the longest time to complete. All other parts are finished much faster.

I have a Bambu Lab P1P, had a Prusa mk3 earlier.
It just blows everything away when it comes to speed. No part of that Eurofighter took longer me longer then 12 hours.

Oh, yes. the LW-PLA is only half as heavy as the normal PLA. But ist realy easy to print LW-PLA.

What is the weight RTF with and without battery please?

If you mean the insert for deep drawing for the canopy, then the two files are called Cockpithaube_Klarglasform_01 and Cockpithaube_Klarglasform_02, and are in the folder PLA_Nozzle_0.4mm 10% Infill.
