Did you 3D print this model?

3D model description

A box inspired by submarine door locking mechanism.
A fancy box for that one special present you might have for someone. Which was what made me create it in the first place.

Enjoy the gears, they are all functional.

Cover includes versions for both 3D printing and laser cutting in clear acrylic.

3D printing settings

Whole box should hold together by snapping the rivets on the door and 1.75 filament into hinges, but feel free to use glue as well.

Rivets, wheel, hinges and box needs supports. Box_ALTERNATIVE is cut in half in order to eliminate need for supports, but needs some gluing.

ASSEMBLY

Start with smd_base.
Insert small gear with rectangular peg in the middle of the base plate.
Continue with two small and four medium gears, as seen in images.
Insert two large gears last.
Insert the bars next, each bar is marked I, II, III or IIII. Find corresponding marks on baseplate and insert bars correspondingly. All bars should be fully in the baseplate when assembling.
Put the wheel on the middle gear and check if the movement is smooth. If not, check the gears and bars for "elephant foot" and carefully clean them with scalpel if necessary.
If the movement is smooth, insert two hinge plates in corresponding spaces on the baseplate.
Remove wheel, put the lid on and put the wheel back.
Rivet the dor together wit the rivets, first from the outer side, then from the inner side.
Alternatively, you can sand and glue the rivets in.
Take the remaining hinge pieces, pair them so that when they are closed they are closed completely. Take a piece of 1.75mm filament and connect the hinges. You may squeeze the ends of filament to secure them from falling out or you cant use a drop of glue to secure them.
Use another piece of filament to connect hinges first to the door, then to the box. Decorative bars on hinges should be visible when box is closed.

@ERANMANOR3 I have added some assembly instructions, are these all right?

Dear Odrivous, I downloaded and printed the model and it looks very nice.
Would it be also possible to receive assemble instructions to put it together?

Impressionnant, bravaux super coffre-fort.
