3D model description

Lift the lid of this fanciful woodland gift box to reveal fluttering butterflies and an inner compartment perfectly sized for candy, treats, or jewelry. The tree trunk itself consists of two pieces, the base and lid, which are notched for easy alignment. Five leaves fold outward as the lid is lifted, allowing the rubber-band powered butterflies within to “fly” upon opening.

For another dramatic option, you can opt to fill the outer chamber with candies instead of butterflies, creating a cascade of sweets as the leaves unfurl.

3D printing settings

Both the stump base and the lid print without support.
The leaf requires printing with grid support: place leaf curve down.

Print 5 leaves, one stump base and one stump lid.

Infill settings:
20% infill for the stump and leaves.
100% infill on butterflies.

The butterfly prints best with a .4 nozzle.
