Did you 3D print this model?

3D model description

With 77 terms gleaned from the scripts of the original trilogy, this WordCloud captures the energy and stories within our favorite saga. The size of each word is related to the frequency it occurs in the texts. I created the WordCloud and STL files using Mathematica. Print this with two colors or with one and enjoy how the textures and vocabulary bring scenes to mind.

Bonus! Stands included for display. The taller one works better for having it displayed upright.

I think this would also be interesting in just one color, but it could be printed using single extrusion and a pause for a color change.

3D printing settings

Base plate is approximately 163 x 222 x 3 mm. The words together approximately 157 x 210 x 9 mm. Full height approximately 12 mm. Printed with 0.3 mm layer height. No supports. No raft.

The stands print on their sides with supports between the holding pegs. I also printed each using a raft to help them stick to the print bed.

I used Simplify3D to help finalize the design.

P.S. Coolest ooze shield ever!

I am a high school math teacher and 3D printing hobbyist. I have been 3D printing since 2017 and enjoy making things for my classes and my own children and home in San Diego, California, USA.

I have a 3D printing sub-site abbymath.com/3DPrinting. See my video on YouTube and my user story written and published by Simplify3D. I design with Mathematica, CorelDRAW, Fusion 360, and Tinkercad. I love my MakerGear M3-ID Rev. 1 and I have a Monoprice Mini as well.
