Okay mine will only open up in 3D viewer and I do not know how to get it to slicer from the 3D viewer I love that model I want some of them I printed light strike vehicles or joint like tactical vehicles excuse me perfectly and I would love to get some of these but I have no understanding of how to transfer it from the 3D viewer to bamboo studio any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you so much for getting back to me as soon as you did much appreciated hope to hear from you soon
Hello sir I have your skipjack STL downloaded I'm using bamboo Lab studio and a bamboo A1 but I cannot get it to come in to bamboo Labs it's in something else it only lets me view it is there any suggestions you have for me to be able to get to where I can print it thank you very much appreciate your time and after and the model is excellent that's why I want it
The vehicles I create are likely best in resin due to the fine details but if you might be able to print it in FDM. They should load without any issue into bambu labs slicer, I tried it myself without any issue. What error are you getting specifically?
Firstly I love the tank designs, seeing as the quality bar is so much higher with these sculpts I bought them all!
I'd also like to say that it'd be really cool to have a tank that's similar to the Pike support vehicle (60 tons).
I've just bought some of your (ridiculously cheap) stuff to say thanks for the freebies. I meant to do this ages ago but then got bogged down in printing Legions (literally and figuratively). Thanks so much for the lovely designs – very kind of you to put so many up for free.
Really great files. What do you think about creating a demolisher as a file?
Greetings sir. I'm running a battletech RPG and I've been printing some of your files (which are amazing) in 28mm scale on an FDM printer. I was wondering if you could cut up your skipjack light IFV. I was hoping to get the wheels separate from the axels and the axels separate from the body. This would make support removal significantly easier.
Thanks !!
Greetings! I recently purchased and printed some of your models including the Bullpup tank. I like it, but the current the turret peg is too small for the turret to stay on when being handled and I would rather not have to glue them on. I was hoping you could modify the turret and hull peg joint slightly to have some holes for magnets? Thank you.
I certainly can show you how to accomplish this, as its likely people use different sized magnets or what they have available it is a bit difficult for me to create something that works for everyone. Send me an email at Carl_s_z@hotmail.com with the subject 3D models and I'll create a tutorial video that uses a simple tool like meshmixer to do the job.
Is the Bullpup tank not listed anymore? I can't see it to download anywhere
It's getting a remake with additional variants, should be available soon
i have a question on the file i get get it out of 3d view to put them in to my slicer at all n i tryed to redownload but dint help
Which model, which file, which slicer, you'll need to provide significantly more information for me to provide any aid
Hey Carl! I was wondering if you'd be interested in using the model files I ripped from HBS BT to make any tanks?
Maybe?....I generally do the tanks from scratch, I thought HBS just used the same hull for everything?
Hi Carl, Just a heads up, the SRM/LRM/MML carrier download link doesn't appear to be responding?
The cults service is likely experiencing some kind of issue, I have no control over the links themselves once I upload files any issues rests with the host platform. Unless of course I forget to upload files!
Working through painting up some of your tanks. I really like the Scorpions. Any chance you'll do the other variants?
Low on the priority list, I have other interests before going back to that model, but could be in the future who knows.
Hey Carl,
I like what I am seeing. Really cool. I haven't printed any yet, but I was wondering if you (like so many others) have a Patreon page? Basically I am wondering if you have even more models, and where I might find them.
Thanks,
David Ellsworth
I am glad you like my models. Modelling is mostly a hobby, when I have spare time, of which I typically have little. I am not nearly productive to have a patreon, what you see here is mostly what I have done or can make available.
I came here to make the same comment. Very cool models.
Thank you kindly, I am glad people do find them useful
Hi dude. I just downloaded the cool rebel anti-air unit but my slicer says the turret is not manifold. I have tried repairing in mechmixer, windows 3D builder and netfab but they all fail. Any chance you could repair the model please
Short term fix would be to use chitubox, I just checked it loads and slices fine and have printed a bunch as well. Lychee does report errors that do seem unfixable. It's on my list for redesign but that is a way off so the shorter term fix would likely be optimal.
Hello, I absolutely love your Salamander build, do you happen to have the SRM6 left arm that is on the 6S?
Just an FYI, the complete Lynx's legs do not match up with the hip sockets.
Hi Carl, i have some issues with the lrm en mrm of the man-eater and with the axeman, the seem to scatter when i download them in lychee.... reloaded then a dozen times still the same issue.
thanks, and keep up the great work.
Can you be more descriptive, I am not entirely sure what scatter means, they don't centre? the LRM and MML both open fine without any issues in chitubox.
sure, it looks like there are holes and tecesses in the models, i can send you a picture if you like, but it looks like the model is somehow messed up. i haven't used chitubox only lychee. all the other models are fine.
thanks for the quick respons.
Absolutely wonderful designs, really great stuff. Found you through this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/battletech/comments/odsprm/manticora_lrmcarrier_hetzer_and_demolisher/
Are the designs for the demolisher and manticore yours? The poster seems to thing so but I cant see them anywhere on your store.
The LRM Carrier and Hetzer from those pictures are mine, no sure who made the others
Thanks for putting so much free stuff up; very kind of you. I'll probably buy the rest of your range one I've managed to resurrect my resin printer 😆😩
You are quite welcome, I am glad you enjoy the models!
Thanks, I will (or rather, 'I will enjoy (massacring my son's army with) the models'. 👍😃)
PS: Just one question, if it's all right. The tanks tend to be 'solid', and therefore really simple to hollow and print for resin, but some of the mechs (like the Axman) seem to have the type of internal spaces and very thin internal surfaces that are fine for FDM (as you just infill them) but tend to kill my resin printer. Do you know if you'll be doing fully solid (in terms of internal structure) versions of these soon (as the Amphibian seems to be in its upper torso, for example)? That's the only thing that's holding me back from buying all your mechs – the worry that they won't print in resin. Not moaning at all – what you've done already is fantastic. My sons were looking at your renders on the site the other day and there were many 'oooh' and 'ahhhhs' . . . as opposed to the 'OH!' and 'Arrrrghh!' that will accompany my deployment of them on the board 😆. Cheers. Kipples.
The mechs are all remixes of other peoples work, normally changing the weapon configurations so there at times where the original designer caused voids. I try to fix them where possible, its a bit of work but small pockets here and there are generally not a serious issue. The tanks are all my own designs and I am able to generally avoid void issues since I can control the process from the start and I am not just mashing parts together but designing everything from the ground up. I've printed all the mechs on my resin printer, though I always do them in their sub parts rather than an entire mech so I know they all can print. As for fixing some of the issues, what you see now is likely the best I can do with the problems that came with the models but I can always look again.
No, no! Don't give yourself extra work – if they print fine, they print. I'm just wary as when I kill a printer it seems to stay killed for quite a while. When I've got it up and running again [see above :( ] I'll have a look. Thanks again for the prints (and the reply) and looking forward to seeing what you do next. Thanks. Kipples.
Love the model but I have been having problems with the wheels on the Hetzer not printing properly. What angle do you recommend printing the model at? Thanks!
I normally print most of the tanks at 20-30 degrees or so upwards on the front end. I always place a larger support under each tire to ensure it does not deform. In general I regret the tread design as its difficult to print but I find placing a lot of light supports on the wheels to get it to work right. Feel free to email me at Carl_s_z@hotmail.com (with subject hetzer) and I can share my supported file if you want to give that a try
Love the models! Easily some of the best scifi tank minis out there.
Have some feedback on the Bullpup though. I had a issue where many parts were to thin or thinly attached and became damaged during the support removal process. If I was more careful I could have probably avoided this damage and the tank is still objectively fantastic for it's lack of price point so it's not pressing.
The parts in question were: the grenade launchers on the turret, the mudguards, the side skirts, some parts of the tracks themselves, and the wall behind the wheels. My print setting may have played a part, but given how fantastic the models still look (you bet I'm going to use them) I doubt it.
Thanks for the compliments!. The bullpup/bulldog was my first tank design I worked on, some problems and small issues as it was a leaning experience for me. In general the fine details are delicate and require some care when removing support structures. You'll need to have your 3D print settings (layer cure time) dialed in well. I test print every model before releasing them so I know they can work but I do agree they can be tricky.
A quick question about the awesome tanks you've done, have you got the files for them with supports already on?
I am unlikely to provide supported models for download any time in the near future. To offset all the time required to do this I would likely have to charge more per model and I would prefer to keep them as low cost as possible.
Hey, love your designs. I just wanted to let you know that the Lynx doesn't have the hips lined up correctly. It made the legs break off easily. After importing and reassembling it in Mesh Mixer I got mine to print perfectly.
Thanks!

Hi Carl SZ, I hope this message find you well. I'm a modder working on MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and I was looking for models to bring into the game for the players to encounter during their playthroughs and to expand the rather abysmal vehicle variety present in the game. I found yours amongst the most popular models under BattleTech and they look amazing. I wanted to reach out to ask: could I get permission to include the models for the vehicles into a mod I'm working on? The mod is only an expansion to the vehicles in the game and it's not open-source as I have assets from other modelers, developers, and games in it that I can't give others access to. If you're interested or want to know more, feel free to message me back. Hope to hear from you soon!
When I created the tanks I merged all the sub components into a single shell, driving up the poly count, I gather you likely need low poly versions?
Not necessarily. I can make due with what you have provided since the models are gorgeous as they are. But if you have low-poly versions or are offering to provide them, I'm more than happy to work with those as well. I'd also make custom texture assets for them for use in the game as well so they can appear with different faction schemes and markings.
If you happen to have the lower poly models with their sub components still separated, that'd actually work a lot better for game usage. Let me know if there's a better place where we can have direct communications like on Discord or email.
