3D model description

Meet "Plan B".

I wanted to gift a 2020 highschool graduate who is a huge Star Trek fan a t-shirt with this popular design. Pandemic shipping delays being what they are, I had to go to plan B to meet my deadline.

I think this turned out great and should last a lot longer than a t-shirt.

How I designed this:
I created an SVG image and imported it into Fusion 360.

I generated the STL in a way that makes it easy to scale. I made it thin because it looks cool when backlit.

Inland PLA+ (True Red, Black)

Notes:
I modeled this at 205x205 so it will need to be scaled in the x-axis and y-axis to fit smaller build plates.

I printed this on a clean glass bed on my CR-10S to get the smoothest first layer possible. I use a bed temp of 70ยญยญยฐC for PLA and usually don't have adhesion problems since adding a BLTouch to my printer.

Only 4 total layers at .24mm layer height. Sliced with Prusa Slicer and set color change after the 2nd layer. You could print with a single color and carefully paint the top layer.

I included a version with a total height of 1.92mm (.96mm base and .96mm top). I found the extra top layers fill in the lettering just a bit better.
