3D Scorpio - The ultimate manual iPhone 12 Mini 3D and Document Scanner / Photogrammetry

This beautiful piece is the ultimate manual photogrammetry rig for the iphone 12 mini. haha, sorry - just a joke.

i developed this rig because i was not satisfied with the solutions already available or because they were too expensive for my limited time. existing solutions rely on the raspberry pi or the arduino, for example.

The 3D Scorpio photogrammetry rig works completely without electronics and has fixed points at which the iphone 12 mini can be plugged in at different angles. I use my own rig with a small Bluetooth Shutter.

the turntable is moved by hand and has circumferential notches so that adjustments can be made more easily. The turntable is suspended from an inserted bearing. As a further small feature, I have given the turntable various recessed points, which you can, for example, color in with colored permanent markers. this increases the accuracy of the 3d scans enormously for very small objects. I still use dry shampoo for my 3D scans (it's cheaper than 3D scan spray and works just as well). With the rig you can take up to 180 photos if you use all angles.

After printing out the parts, they are screwed together with M4 (18 mm) screws.

You will need the following parts for assembling:

2x Dokumentenauflage.stl (OPTIONAL)

Optional: Dokumentenauflage.stl - A Addon to Scan Documents in the size DIN A4
Optional: Basis2_3D_Skorpion.stl - The second part of the basis (higher if needed)
Optional: Unterlegscheibe_3D_Skorpion.stl and Unterlegscheibe2mm_3D_Skorpion.stl - not absolutely necessary but serves as a spacer between the bearing and the turntable.

Since I didn't have any bearings at the moment, I made the opening the size of a POM pulley wheel. As soon as I have bearings again, I will add a matching ring-shaped insert.

If you want to use the rig for another phone, you are welcome to create a remix with adjusted sizes. The STEP Files are included.

I can recommend the following as print settings for Cura:

• 0.4 nozzle
• 0.2 Layer Hight
• 4 bottom layers
• 4 top layers
• Tree support everywhere at 45 degrees if you want to get save but no support is needed at all
• Infill 25% Gyroid
• 60mm / second speed

Ich habe eine Erweiterung hinzugefügt. Dokumentenauflage.stl - Damit können nun auch DIN A4 Dokumente gescannt werden.

Dieses schöne Stück ist das ultimative Photogrammetrie-Rig für das iPhone 12 Mini mit manueller Steuerung. haha, entschuldigt - war nur spaß.

ich habe dieses Rig entwickelt, weil mich die bereits erhältlichen Lösungen nicht zufriedengestellt haben oder für meine knappe Zeit zu aufwendig waren. Vorhandene Lösungen setzen beispielsweise auf den Raspberry pi oder den Arduino.

Das 3D Scorpio Photogrammetrie-Rig funktioniert völlig ohne Elektronik und besitzt feste Punkte, an denen man das iPhone 12 Mini in unterschiedlichen Winkeln einstecken kann.

Der Drehteller wird von Hand bewegt und besitzt umlaufende Einkerbungen, damit man leichter eine Justierung vornehmen kann. Die Aufhängung des Drehtellers erfolgt über ein eingestecktes Bearing. als weiteres kleines Feature habe ich dem Drehteller verschiedene eingelassene Punkte verpasst, welche man beispielsweise mit farbigen permanent Markern ausmalen kann. Dies erhöht die Genauigkeit der 3d scans bei sehr kleinen Objekten enorm. Ich nutze für meine 3D Scans noch Trockenshampoo (ist günstiger als 3D scan spray und funktioniert genauso gut).

Nach dem Ausruck der Teile werden diese mit M4 (18 mm) Schrauben verschraubt.

Du benötigst die folgenden Teile für die Montage:

Da ich aktuell keine Bearings zur Verfügung hatte, habe ich die Öffnung auf die Größe eines POM Pulley Wheels angelegt. Sobald ich wieder Bearings habe, werde ich noch einen passenden Einsatz in Ringform hinzufügen. UPDATE: Ringform habe ich hinzugefügt

Wenn du das Rig für ein anderes Telefon nutzen möchtest, kannst du gerne einen Remix erstellen. Die STEP Daten liegen mit bei.

Als Druckeinstellungen für Cura kann ich euch folgendes empfehlen:
