The CanalSat decoder does not have a brightness setting for its on/off indicator.
Moreover, this indicator is thin and has few sockets for attaching a cover.
Nevertheless, this is possible, but only if the part is very precisely printed.
Your printer must be capable of maintaining an accuracy of around 1/100 mm in relation to the model file.
I'll explain below how best to do this.
In the end, the part stands on its own when perfectly printed.
I incorporated two different levels of transparency on the piece, the arc of the circle is more attenuated than the small vertical segment.
These levels of transparency are obtained with opaque filaments due to the low printing thicknesses.
If you use a basic translucent filament, attenuation will obviously be lower.
For my part, I used a Navy Blue ABS filament to be consistent with the other LEDs on my hifi equipment.
And of course, if you're having trouble adjusting the part so that it stands on its own, you can always use a small dot of glue to fix it in place.
Once this part is in place, you'll need to switch your decoder on and off with the remote control, as the part encloses the entire indicator and no longer allows it to be moved back and forth.
If you wish to switch on and off by hand, remove and replace the part.
If not, let me know and I'll make you a model with less wall height, but you'll be obliged to glue it on.
