3D model description

A simple stylized 3D model of a Trabant 601 car. The model was created in Blender. The model consists of a hollow body, chassis, wheels and discs. The wheel is available as a whole for PLA printing or separately as a tire and disc (TPU + PLA). I โ€‹โ€‹make the wheel axles from PLA filament.

3D printing settings

I print the model on a FlashForge Adventurer 4 FDM printer. I don't use supports, 0.3 mm nozzle, 0.13 mm layer height.

The chassis can be snapped into the body. I thread the filament through the wheel hub, heat it slightly on the outside of the wheel and press it with a lighter to create just a tiny protrusion. I then shorten the axle shaft to about 15 mm. Then I glue the cover onto the wheel disc. I squeeze the axle shaft a little with pliers before the end to expand it and hold it in the chassis, and I slide it into the chassis with the wheel.
