Tamiya Fox alternate Front Suspension setup

I got tired of the weak and inefficient front suspension on my Tamiya Fox, so I designed these upgrades. This set maintains the stock shock positioning while providing significantly better articulation than the original ball-type pivots.

What You’ll Need
4x Short hinge screws
4x TA01/02 kingpins (stock or aftermarket upgrades work fine)
2x Wheel axles and nuts (from stock steering arms)
Stock ball links (unless you have already upgraded them)
3mm drill bit
5mm drill bit

Assembly Instructions

Ream the Holes

Carefully drill/ream all 3mm and 5mm holes using the corresponding drill bits to ensure exact tolerances and smooth movement.

Install the Wheel Axles

Press the wheel axle into the steering knuckle, making sure to line up the flat spot correctly. This may require light force with a soft mallet, arbor press, or bench vise. Take care not to mar the threads. Once enough thread protrudes, thread the nut on and tighten it to pull the axle fully home.

Install the Kingpins (Crucial Step)

Thread the kingpins into the top and bottom of the steering knuckle. Ensure they go in completely straight to prevent binding.

    Tip: If you experience any resistance or binding after installing, slightly enlarge the carrier’s top and bottom holes step-by-step until the knuckle rotates smoothly.

Verify Orientation

Note that the steering knuckles are directional: the middle notch must face toward the rear of the buggy.

Final Assembly

Mount the completed knuckles onto your buggy, then reattach the shocks.

NOTE**
The blue parts in the screenshots are not included.

Parts are printed as loaded in PETG for best results.

Always Make sure your PETG is dry before printing.
