3D model description
Complete your heavy railway infrastructure with this highly detailed Square Girder Bridge Centre Support. Designed specifically for OO Gauge (1:76 scale), this model represents the standard riveted steelwork used extensively for rail-over-road bridges and industrial viaducts throughout the UK.
This "Square" profile support is designed for modellers who require a more industrial, utilitarian aesthetic for their bridge spans. The model features meticulous rivet placement along the top and bottom flanges, as well as the vertical strengthening webs. Optimized for high-resolution resin printing, the fine-scale rivet heads remain perfectly defined, providing an authentic "heavy metal" appearance that is ideal for weathering with washes and powders.
Key features:
- Prototypical Industrial Design: Replicates the heavy-duty riveted plate construction found in Victorian and modern-era railway engineering.
- High-Fidelity Rivet Detail: Hundreds of individually modelled rivet heads on all visible faces for ultimate realism.
- Scale Accuracy: Precisely scaled to 1:76 (OO Gauge) with a total width of 144.6mm, compatible with standard double-track bridge clearances.
- Pre-Supported Version Included: Includes a professionally supported STL, optimized to protect the rivet detail during the printing process.
- Versatile Application: Ideal as a central support for long spans, a decorative bridge façade, or a structural element for coal staithes and industrial loading docks.
Model dimensions:
- Width: 144.6mm
- Height: 14.4mm
- Depth: 7.5mm
What’s Included in the Download:
This pack contains 2 high-resolution STL files:
- Girder Bridge Centre Support - Square V1.0.stl (Unsupported)
- Girder Bridge Centre Support - Square V1.0_support.stl (Pre-supported)
Printing & Post-Processing:
- Tested Settings: Successfully test-printed on an ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra 16K using a 0.03mm layer height and an exposure time of 1.8s.
- Workflow: For the best results, use the V1.0_support.stl file. It has been oriented to ensure the horizontal rivet lines on the flanges print without distortion.
- Finishing: I recommend a base coat of "Lead Grey" or "Oxide Red". The flat surfaces and rivet rows respond exceptionally well to a black pin-wash, which will accentuate the structural depth of the girder.

3D printing settings
I used my ELEGOO Resin 3D Printer, Saturn 4 Ultra 16K and SUNLU ABS Like Resin for 3D Printer. I use solid grey resin, 0.03mm layer height and 1.8 second exposure time.
You'll need to use your setting based on your printer and resin.
