The Frommer Stop is one of the more mechanically unusual early semi-automatic pistols. Designed by Rudolf Frommer and introduced in 1912, it was manufactured by FÉG in Budapest and adopted by the Hungarian military as the Pisztoly 12M. The pistol saw service during World War I and remained in production in various forms into the late 1930s.

Unlike most pistols of its size and caliber, the Frommer Stop uses a long-recoil, rotating bolt locking system, a relatively complex mechanism more commonly associated with rifles and shotguns. It was typically chambered in 7.65mm Frommer Long and later also produced in 9mm Kurz (.380 ACP). Its distinctive tubular recoil spring housing above the barrel gives the pistol a very recognizable silhouette.

This model required careful refinement to ensure reliable 3D printing while preserving the fine mechanical details characteristic of the original design. Several structural elements were adjusted to improve printability and durability while maintaining visual accuracy.

Notes:

For best results, always exclude screw threads using the support painting feature. Removing supports from threaded areas can be difficult, especially on small diameters. Additionally, orient detailed parts along the Z-axis for cleaner results and easier post-processing.
