Some say that they come from another planet, possibly Venus, but the greatest likelihood is that these terrifying horrors were once human, and were mutated by the strange radiations of the post-apocalyptic swamps. They favor hot and humid areas, presumably to keep their exposed brains warm and moist.

Of course, being little more than a brain gives certain advantages, as Brain-Bats possess terrifying mental powers. They can use telekinesis to fly, and to hurl things at opponents/victims. They can inflict confusion with their powerful gaze. But their most heinous ability is actually how they feed: they latch on to intelligent beings and psychically suck out their memories and intelligence!

If a being is reduced to 0 Intelligence by this attack, it becomes a Brain-Bat Mind Slave, a mindless zombie under the mental control of the Brain-Bat that drained it. When encountered, Brain-Bats may have a number of Mind Slaves already that will help them in the battle.

This Brain-Bat model is designed to represent a Brain-Bat that is currently attacking a PC…as such, no base is provided. Instead, when one of your Brain-Bats hits with a grapple attempt, remove the model and replace it with this one, plopping it over the PC mini’s head!

The Mutant Mayhem Minis line of figures was designed for Mutant Crawl Classics RPG, but also go great with DCC, Gamma World, D&D or any game that uses 28mm minis.
