Airsoft ArmaLite AR-18 AEG Body Kit

A complete, fully-functional body kit for Marui-spec V2 airsoft AEG gearboxes.

This model is a 1:1 scale reproduction of the legendary ArmaLite AR-18, the 'affordable' cousin of the ubiquitous AR-15. I have designed this from the ground up for airsoft 3D printing applications. That means there are some key concessions, such as a non-foldable stock and a less-realistic pistol grip, but overall it's as true-to-life as possible!

A complete assembly guide and parts diagrams are included with the model.

• Fully 3D printable on 180mm print beds.
• Carefully reproduced trademarks on the upper receiver.
• Retractable mock bolt carrier actuated via the charging handle, providing access to the hop-up for adjustment.
• Fully adjustable front & rear sights with two rear sight notches.
• Built from scratch to be fully compatible with many common AEG components.
• Realistic magazine release compatible with common M4 AEG magazine release components.
• Includes .step files for outer barrels to allow user modification (e.g. inserting a metal tube between inner/outer barrels for stability)

Changes since last version:
- Modified inner geometry of LR-01 (Lower Receiver) to solve an issue where the fire selector plate was unable to move into the ‘SAFE’ position. Improved strength of receiver pin hole.
- LR-03 (Motor Grip) flattened at the bottom for ease of printing.
- LR-08 (Front Takedown Pin) shortened to prevent falling out.
- UR-02 (Dust Cover) clearances improved to aid movement.
- UR-04 (Front Takedown Pin Loop) widened to improve stability.
- UR-07B (Rear Sight Wheel) detailing added.
- B-05A (Front Sight Rear Block) sling mounting hole added.

All print orientations and settings provided in the included project .3mf file (produced using Bambu Studio).

Generally, I recommend as many walls as possible for smaller components, and a minimum of 3 walls for larger external components.

I also recommend a very small layer height of 0.08mm for all components - despite the long print times, this has provided excellent surface quality through testing without requiring sanding, as well as admirable strength. The parts clearances have also been modelled with this layer height in mind.
