RC28R V2! Battery Hold Down System - Hardcase Battery

Version 2!!! After running the version 1 for some time we noticed that the side bars might interfere with the torsion links if a high rear roll center was used so we updated the design! The new design has no problems with torsion link clearance at all and with this also the added benefit of battery clearance when installing and removing. Because of this the center shock can be lower without any hindrance at all!

Remove and install your batteries with quick access battery tabs! Slide batteries out without screws or any additional tools. Can swap batteries with one hand!

Battery hold down system for Associated (AE) RC28R 1:28 RC race car.

Replaces the aluminum center shock mount and carbon fiber battery hold down "wings".

There are 4 versions of the main holder with different shock mounting heights. 2 sets of hold down tabs are included one specifically for the Reedy 27610 LiPo battery and the 2nd for slightly wider hardcase batteries. The generic one has been sized to fit PN Racing, Reflex Racing, and MWX Performance batteries that are 20mm in width or smaller.

The 4 shock mounting height versions are for standard shock mount height (same as OEM part), +1.5mm shock mount, +3.0 shock mount, and +4.0mm shock height. This allows for more control of shock mounting for compression angle as well as battery clearance while using the stock threaded ballend.

Main mount can be installed with the OEM flathead screws.

Additional hardware needed:
2x - m2 button head screws (5mm length recommended)
2x - 0.5mm m2 washers (The height of the battery tab towers are designed for a 0.5mm washer to be installed between the tab and the mount. For taller batteries PN, MWX, Reflex use a 1.0mm washer).

Settings I used:
.16 layer height
100% infill

In test prints holes are sized well to self-tap m2 screw threads however printers and settings differ so it is handy to have a 1.5mm drill bit to chase the screw holes to ensure the best fit. For this design it is best for the tabs to be very snug!

Use standard/normal supports
I recommend a higher quality material like PETG-CF or PCTG but test prints in PETG have held up well.
