3D model description

The world is your oyster with prop guards – flythroughs, event filming, close-up shots, chasing gaps, … you name it. These prop guards are made for the AOS 3.5 V5 frame. Combined with the skky GoPro kit, they allow for cinematic GoPro filming with an added layer of protection.

This bundle includes
- skky light prop guard
- skky full prop guard

For each guard, two versions of the top plate are available to fit 3.5 and 4mm standoffs of the AOS 3.5 V5 frame. Please measure the diameter of your AOS 3.5 V5 standoffs to print the right version (see STL filename)
For each guard, two versions of the arm plate are available to fit 9 and 12mm motor hole spacing. Please check the specifications of your motor to print the right version (see STL filename). The 9mm version is default as it fits the light motors recommended on our website.

One light guard requires
- 2x arm plates (PETG)
- 2x top plates (PETG)
- 6x M2x20 standoffs (PETG)
- 12x M2x6 HEX screws (steel) to fix guard standoffs
- 8x M2x7 HEX screws (steel) to fix guard at motors – use the ones from the frame

One full guard requires
- 2x arm plates (PETG)
- 2x top plates (PETG)
- 10x M2x20 standoffs (PETG)
- 20x M2x6 HEX screws (steel) to fix guard standoffs
- 12x M2x10 HEX screws (steel) to fix guard at motors/frame

Compatibility
- Frame: AOS 3.5 V5
- Frame standoff diameter: 3.5/4mm
- Propeller: 3.5 inch (HQ 3.5x2.5 recommended)
- Motor: 9/12mm hole spacing
- Supports optional Alu standoffs (M2x20x3.5/4)

We optimized the design for durability in many crash tests. However, these guards are made-out of plastic (PETG) which can still brake on hard impact. Therefore, we recommend printing an extra pair of guards for you to keep on flying after a crash.

- Feb 12, 2025: Removed the chamfer on the print bed of the full guard for easier 3D printing (v2) - no functional difference

3D printing settings

  • Print in PETG or similar material (drying recommended)
  • 100% Infill
  • No support required for light guard and support required for full guard (except for standoffs)
  • STL files are oriented in the optimal way for printing
  • All other settings at default (in BambuLab Studio)
  • Mirror versions of right and left side of guard included
  • Print 3.5mm or 4mm version of top plate depending on your AOS standoffs
  • Print 9mm (default) or 12mm version of arm plate depending on your motor hole spacing
