Assembly Video: https://youtu.be/NEnhpNhqJ4M
No glue or screws required
If you want a different scale, just scale every part down in the slicer.
Changing it by +-50% should be no problem. Below 50%, the mechanism might fail. (You would have to test that.)
Printed in 4 pieces:
- Head part
- Body part (Pre-Supported 3mf file for bambulab now available)
- Doors
- tip
- (+optional foot stand)
(Bonus: a tiny KeyChain DropPod)
Support required:
The main body requires support.
Be sure to support the edges, which are slightly elevated for better briding (see image).
Some additional support arround the edge helps with smoother bridging.
Make sure there is NO support structure generated insude the body, especially the hooks in the side.
Assembly:
1. remove the support brackets from the door parts
2. lay down the doors in a circle so the skull is depicted correctly
3. Grab the head and place it upside down next to the doors
4. take the doors in clock rotation and place them counter clock wise into the slids of the head
4a) turn the doors so the rectangular wedge is in the head slid.
4b) make sure the doors are in the "open" position (moved as close to the wall as possible)
4c) (skull has to point to the top side of the head)
5. Orient the body such that the hexagon shape overlaps with the head, the air brakes (the grid at the side of the head)
is on the same face as the body plate with the small skull on it.
6. Make sure there is no dirt or filament residue between parts
6a) Check that the hooks on the body can be pressed in. The first time they are pressed in,
there might be strong resistance due to filament overhangs connecting hook and body.
Just press them in with force and a hard item like pliers.
7. Press the body into the head, until it snaps into the rods of the doors.
The doors should now be in place in open position. The body snaps into the head. Turn the head 60° to open or close the door.
Size-Parts:
- Body: 107.6 x 99 x 191.1 mm (X Y Z)
- Head: 106.7 x 95.2 x 36 mm
Full size when assembled is roughly
108 x 100 x 225 mm
Note: Make sure your filament is food safe before storing snacks in it.
