TELLURION, SOLAR SYSTEM, SUN, EARTH, MECHANICAL MOON

The first model is complete, and it's working!
I replaced the original earth with a remixed model from thingiverse that I printed in blue PLA and painted, to get a high contrast representation of the earth with visible features of geography. The only other modifications I did was to mount the earth on a 6mm carbon fiber tube, since it has thicker walls than the brass tube and sits more snugly on the 4mm steel axle. I also had to print a few gears at 99% scale to get the gears to mesh right, probably because of incorrect printer settings.

When I cut the plywood parts I made enough for two models. The next model I will build more slowly with more time spent on appearance and lowering friction as much as possible.
