3D model description

Completely 3D printed Kayak! The Kayak measures 16ft 8in [5.08m] long. All of the 28 Structural Parts are 3D printed, secured together with M5 machine screws & brass threaded inserts and then sealed to each other with a little bit of silicone caulk. That’s it. And it floats. Moves really fast through the water!

=> This Creation is for the Kayak STL Files Only - for the Complete Detailed Kayak Source CAD Model, Add-Ons/Extras, STLs and Detailed Bill of Materials with Sources, please see this other creation:

3D printing settings

The Kayak is comprised of 28, 3D printed sections. Each section has M5 brass threaded thermoplastic inserts so the next corresponding section can be screwed into it with M5x20mm machine screws. Silicone caulk is only used between the sections to ensure it is watertight. This design is heavily modified for 3D printing and requires no supports. To reduce print time and material usage, the kayak can be successfully printed at a 0.65mm layer height, cut you can use any layer height desired. It features a 6mm thick hull with a built-in, internal rib/support structure to give it strength, yet be lightweight and use less plastic. Any print material can be used. On the bow and stern of the Kayak I added attach points for cameras, handles and future add-ons.

Me da igual que realizar el proyecto sea mas costoso que comprar una. Pero el trabajo de diseño, la paciencia en la producción, son dignos de admiración. Te felicito por ello.

I don't think that is feasible for my 150x150x150 build plate, but if it was....

Thumbs Up!

What print volume is required to print these pieces? Mine has 150mmx150mmx150mm - is that too small for these files?

Hello Nico, the 3D source model can be modified to split sections as needed

possible to print with an ender 3 ? :D

Love it. Expanding the envelope of what can be 3D printed at home. Thank you for the share

26 kg of filament and over a month of print time -- dang! I can't help but be impressed in spite of (or maybe because of?) how wildly impractical this is; love it.

Why would you do that?

Genial, lo quiero <3

Hold my beer...!

Awesome Project!

This shows the crazy potential of 3D printing and great designers. Love it.

Ohhh! It's amazing, thanks for sharing!
