Airsoft Panzerfaust WW2 rocker launcher

Tired of those pesky allies and their shermans? Well I am happy to bring you a solution!

The Panzerfaust-design consisted of a light recoilless launcher tube outfitted with a single pre-loaded high-explosive anti-tank warhead protruding from the muzzle, much like a "fist", hence the name. It was an inexpensive, easy-to-use anti-tank weapon for the common infantry man, being issued as a single unit of ammunition meant to be operated by a single soldier." - Wiki

The current airsoft options available online do not live up to this inexpensive name costing upwards of £400. While not 100% accurate to the real deal. This model is designed to be inexpensive and use minimal tools to build.

The main body is made out of a 41mm waste pipe and the firing pin is a 6mm steel rod. You will also need some assorted wood screws. Total cost with filament should be less than £30

Assembly instructions:

Rod will need to be cut down to approx 290mm I recommend cutting it longer and filing it down until you get correct engagement.

The rest of the rod will be used for the pins for trigger assembly and sight. Just measure and cut to size, If you have a grinder or sander you can match the profile of the tube otherwise just cut short.

Pipe will need to be cut to 80cm

17.5cm from one end of the pipe a 10mm wide and 60mm long hole will need to be cut out.

Assemble the firing mechanism with using a 6mm rod as a swivel.

Assemble the warhead with the rod guide. I recommend gluing these together using epoxy so that they don't come apart by accident.

Insert the firing mechanism into the tube with the cut out facing to the front and use the warhead to push it into place.

Slide the firing pin in and test that everything moves smoothly. Sand down where required.

Use screws to mount the trigger mount and sight mount to a the tube. This will screw in through the tube into the firing pin guide and firing mechanism body.

Use 6mm pins to mount the trigger lever and sight to their respective mounts.

added improved tolerances for warhead

Print the warhead with high wallcount, I used 5 walls on 0.6mm nozzle. This will give a lot more strength than increasing infill. I only used 10% infill.

For the trigger mechanism I recommend printing with high wall count again and 50% infill. This part waill take the brunt of the forces acting upon the unit.

The rod guide can be printed with low wall count and infill as its not very structurraly important.

You will need your settings to be down for printing threads! Otherwise you will struggle to screw the parts together.
