I have put together a pack of all the parts you'll need to build your own Micro Scope. Including a list of all the electronics, a list of all the fixings, assembly drawings, hole and thread drawings and of course the full Fusion 360 CAD.

Using the Build Pack you'll be able to take advantage of the Adjustable Equatorial Mount, which is not included in the basic STLs download from Thingiverse.

The Fusion 360 Master Files allow you to edit, modify, and or add features to The Micro Scope. You'll be able to export updated STL files and print your own modified parts!

Ahhh ok, yes I know the thread. I thought there was more than just that. Adding a thread for a tripod should be easy enough. I shall add it to my list of add-ons to do.

Per ISO 1222:2010, the current tripod screw thread standard for attaching the camera calls for a 1/4-20 UNC or 3/8-16 UNC thread. Most consumer cameras are fitted with 1/4-20 UNC threads.

Here is the standard for tripod threads. 3/8 is for very big and heavy cameras. Most home photographers have 1/4. I wouild think this standard is global and not just the US. I have never seen Cannon release a camera with a metric tripod thread. I am sure they make metal inserts that could be put into a 3D printed part. Or maybe what you do is buy these 3/8 to 1/4 adapters and you screw this into the 3D printed part.

I had considered making a long-legged tripod but decided against it. Is there a camera tripod standard that I could look at?

One design idea.. create a tripod mount for it. So people can take the legs off and put the Micro Scope on a standard camera tripod. This will get the Micro Scope off of a shaky table and on to a platform that is very stable.
