D-pad replacement button mod for Xbox 360 gamepad

Important warning!

You may have to permanently mod your original gamepad shell to make this part fit, i.e. cutting some plastic with a dremel or similar! I designed the part for an aftermarket shell that's slightly different from the original one.

This mod replaces the original d-pad with four separate directional buttons. This is far superior to the mushy original d-pad which resulted in frequent missed or unwanted inputs.

I prefer the mid flat buttons myself, the tall version was also good. Of all the available ones the low smooth is the oldest one I made and while it worked it was a bit too low and didn't bottom out as noticeably as the later taller versions.

I've spent hundreds of hours using the good old 360 gamepad on my PC. When I took it apart recently to replace the old beat up shell with a new one I found the quick and dirty d-pad mod I had forgotten about doing years ago, a slim plastic shim to stiffen up the d-pad making it less mushy.
Since I recently got into the 3D printing and modeling hobby I thought I could probably find some 3D files online for a nicer, cleaner modification. I did find some and printed the parts successfully, but found out I'd have to cut up either of my shells, be it the old scuffed one or the new shiny one, else the parts wouldn't fit. And I wasn't very impressed with the design either.
So many weekends have gone by since, a lot of hours spent struggling with both Fusion 360 and various slicers and the printer itself, there is a pile of failed prints and just previous iterations, but now I finally have a nice mod that works well for me.

Important!

I used the .3mf files with my slicer to generate the gcode for the printer. I haven't tested the .stl files at all.

I used black PETG from Rosa3D for the main part of the mod and silk silver PLA from GIANTARM for the buttons.
Because different filaments shrink or expand differently there is a high probability that printing with other filaments will result in either a fit that is too loose making the buttons rattle or worse a fit too tight making the buttons not fit or get stuck.
For now I'm uploading the files that worked for me but I intend to add a thinner and a thicker button version too.
