3D model description
Hi there, I'm a big fan of the boardgame Root and when I looked around the internet for 3d printed pieces I found a lot of sets of varying quality that were almost what I was looking for. In the end I decided to attempt my own and try some cool ideas I had. Unfortunately I was new to 3D design so it was a long process. It took me over a calendar year of learning Blender and tinkering in my spare time to get here, but I finally made it! Oddly I almost feel the need to apologize for putting it behind a pay wall, but the hope of recovering some of the cost that went into my filament purchases was the motivation I needed to get it to the finish line. I hope you enjoy and thank you for reading!
This set contains pieces for Root, including the Riverfolk, Underground, and Maraurder expansions, as well as a full set of box inserts.

Print requirements:
The game pieces are all designed for and test printed with a 0.25mm nozzle. The box inserts were all printed with a 0.4mm nozzle. All my designs are meant for a single extrusion printer. The varied colors are achieved by color changes mid-print and using multiple pieces that snap together.
I tested the prints with a Prusa Mini. I can't gaurantee they will work as designed with all printers, but I am willing to help adjust my designs if you run into trouble.
Filament:
I suggest the following matte filament colors for the base game prints:
Green
Orange
Yellow
Red
Blue
Grey (stone color)
White
Brown (wood color)
The following colors are needed for the Riverfolk expansion:
Teal
Dark green if you have it (for the lizard gardens)
The following colors are needed for the Underground expansion:
Beige
Purple
Black
The following colors are needed for the Marauders expansion:
Gold
Silver
Bronze
Black
Lighter grey if you have it
My prints are all in PLA.
Glue/Paint:
None! All my pieces are designed to snap together and require only a single extrusion printer. No painting or glueing is needed.
But wait, there's more!
Weighted Pieces:
I also included a variant of each building piece (every piece with a square base) that is designed to be filled with black iron oxide (magnetite) to add weight. The process is a little more involved, but still does not require glue.
Detailed instructions for proper slicing and assembly are included with the provided files.
This is a complicated project and I probably made some mistakes when preparing it for release. If you find any issues please send me a message and I'll get it corrected as soon as I can. Thanks for your support!
