What kind of filament did you use? For this part you should avoid using silk filament for example, since it has poor layer adheasion. Also use at least 4 outer walls. You could also reduce the force required to put on the doors by slightly downscaling the v2 pins and gluing the doors with CA-glue. To be honest, I am not fully comfortable with seperating the Top Gear into two parts, because the protruding pins would have to be printed laying down in order to increase strength and then I am not sure, if the door gears would still turn well. Especially considering, that this would require a perfect first layer, which is a thing a lot of printers do not have.

Sorry to hear, that you have a hard time printing them, but to be honest I never had problems with them falling during printing, by paying attention to a clean first layer.
The most important factors are:
- higher nozzle and bed temperature on the first layer
- correct Z-offset of the first layer to ensure a strong bond with the bed (better smaller in order to increase the pressure, the filament gets extruded to the bed)
- a clean printbed (ideally cleaned with isopropanol)
- adheasive spray or glue stick helps a lot!
- well calibrated flow rate. Too high flow rate results in small imperfections on the part, the nozzle collides with during travel
- enable Z-hop during travel

Did you print the V2 version of the door connection, where the pin and the gear is seperated?
This should be much more stable. There also is a video included in the donwload, showing how to assemble the V2 door connection.

Yes you are right about the brims, I also used them, when printing the rods, because they can get wobbly at the end. I also mentioned this in the recommended print settings ;-)

Hi,
to get a smooth articulation it is very important, that every gear aligns correctly. Therefore every gear rod has a flat surface on one side, which indicates the correct orientaion. If only one of them is not correct, you will get the described problems.
Please check, if every 8 gear rods really are aligned correctly. I also adress this in the assembly video. I also once had one of the 8 gear rods wrong, and the mechanism would only work very rough, but once i corrected that, everything went fine. I already printed 10+ of these boxes.

Hello, no I didn't reprint it. But I believe that printing it bigger than the original size is better. The rods that hold the flaps with the gears are too fragile.

Print the gears with PETG

I added a V2 version of the door gears, with much increased strength. They now consist of two parts, which takes advantage of a better print orientation
