Christmas events are coming, and we all think about house decoration to make it as cozy as possible. Christmas tree is one the major element to enhance Christmas spirit and atmosphere for the children even for adults. It’s a real pleasure to prepare it, to add Christmas balls and garlands on it. Since many years now, some lighted garlands are available. It’s efficient to make the Christmas tree sparkling like a starry sky. On one side we have some lighted garlands and some Christmas ball. On the other side we have Itslitho which can make spherical lithophane. Why not merge all that and make your own lithophane Christmas balls lighted garland? You'll find here all parts need to create your own lithophane Christmas ball: The top, the bottom, the ring and an free first lithophane.

For the assembly, just clip all parts together.
This model fit led garland with a spot diameter 9mm maxi or the single "Balloon led light" diameter 11mm.
For the garland, please print the "topdiam9mm" and "ring" STL.
For the single "Balloon led light", please print the "topdiam11.2mm" STL.

For the top, bottom and ring, please place them on the printer bed accordingly to the picture you'll find one description.

For the lithophane, use usual lithophane printing settings (0.12mm layer height, 999 shells and 30mm/sec printing speed).

can you change the sphere diameter and the top and bottom will still fit (is it parameterized to adjust)?

I am finding that the Pure 11.2 is to tight to fit the purchased bulbs. Any help here?

I have tried this repeatedly, sadly the concave nature of the top and bottom causes the slicer (PrusaSlicer) to not print anything for the bulb on the first layer, which causes failures every time. Perhaps you can adjust the tops and bottoms so it can print properly?

I don't use the Prusa slicer but I did have success by manually setting a slightly negative z offset. I used -0.09 in Simplify3d and was able to get successful prints.

I am having the same issue, also in PrusaSlicer. I cannot find a way to have a negative z offset, so not able to use that trick.

I’m not sure how you can do it on prusaslicer but it may not be called a a offset in that slicer. If you can manually move the model down just a hair below the plane it should accomplish the same thing. I’m just moving it down slightly less than a millimeter.
