I see that you have the file for the Bach 4-6-0 Annie replacement axle. Do you have, or know where I can find the file or replacement parts for the gear for that same engine? Thanks in advance for any help!

Try Jiro Yeramian he makes replacement gears, he is on FB messenger

THanks for the info!

Hello,
I get an error when I place the object flat on the bed in PrusaSlicer.
Do you have to print the part tilted? Otherwise, it uses so much filament. See the attached error message.

"There are active warnings concerning sliced models:
Empty layer between 2 and 2.36.
Object name: Spruce duplex house roof x 2.stl
Make sure the object is printable. This is usually caused by negligibly small extrusions or by a faulty model. Try to repair the model or change its orientation on the bed."

Regards,Peter

I'm not familiar with PrusaSlicer as I use Cura. I imported the file that is on the Cults site and was able to slice it in Cura with no issues. So you have Cura? You will want to orient it so the the top side on the roof is on the bed. This way requires no support. I'd also suggest adding anti-lifting tabs on the corners and printing with a brim to avoid it curling off the bed during printing.

Randy, I would like to purchase this file. what do I need to know before printing it? I would like to print it for On30 1:48 scale use. thanks, Jake

Which file are you referring to?

I checked again and the files are there. “SSC hopper ladders sides inner” and SSC hopper ladders sides outer”. I just tested it and was able to download them from cults

Thanks! Found them and started printing. Ran into a strange issue with the outer side in Orca. Something about G code off the platform. Used Cura and printed fine. Thanks again!

Good morning! I recently downloaded your files for a standard 50ton steel ladder style hopper car. I'm sure it is me, but I cannot seem to find the files for the sides of the car? Is this intentional? Love your stuff so far. Thank you for putting these files together. I've been scratch building in G scale for 20 years mostly from the old plans in the Garden Railways magazines.

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks for the positive feedback, The files are there, the 3rd and 4th file on the list (sides inner and sides outer)

I just downloaded the outer sides file from cults and sliced it in Cura with no issue. I don't use orca so I'm not familiar with that but I don't see any issues with the file. do you have access to Cura?

I added an assembly instruction guide which should help

Hello,

I just purchased and began printing your beautiful NE Steel Caboose - no end windows G-Scale MASTER KIT. Could you use a .zip or password protected .zip file I would send you for the 45 files download to make it easier for customers? (I am not sure what cult's posting policy is.)

Is modeling just something enjoyable that you do or is your work more challenging and not made for fun? If for fun, the last of the BUDD passenger trains (Universal Rapid Transit), built in the early to mid 1980s and used only by Baltimore and Miami. I'm not sure about Baltimore's, but Miami's are lost and gone to the world. Is the Budd Universal Rapid Transit (BURT) train car-pair something you'd ever consider for fun? (I'd buy two! ;)

Not sure a zip file would be an option, but it is pretty easy to download them by just clicking down the list (I just tried it and was able to do it in 86 seconds). I primarily design items I can use on my railway so I am mostly just working on things from prior to WWII that fit my railway based in WV. A BURT car is not something that would fit my area or era so I would not be looking to make one of those.
Thanks

Love the new stove! Great for cabooses, old-time coaches, as well as structures. Thanks as always.

Hey Randy. First: omfg your models are amazing. Not just detailed but Remarkably accurate, well done.

I was wondering if you had any thoughts about printing them in N scale (I have a nice resin printer). I see in a comment people have done as small as Z. Was mostly just wondering if you knew what (if any) modification it would need.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Those who printed these in smaller scales with a resin printer basically assembled the parts virtually and saved the assembled parts as a file. this allowed them to print the item as one piece or just a few pieces.

Hola Randy, muchas gracias. Muchas gracias. Un abrazo.

Hello Sir, can you tell me where to get the people you use?
I love your designs

Most of them are from designscanprint3d or modelu they are both subscription services that issue new files each month

Hola Randy, Yo nuevamente... Saludos.

Sounds like the parts you are missing were either brass rod or Ozark miniatures parts on my G scale original. I am away this week but when I get back I can try to make those parts for you as printable components

Ok., muchas gracias. Que tengas un buen viaje.

I've added the parts I think you were looking for to make a complete grouped file

If you are scaling these down to a small scale you would likely need to use a resin printer. You may be able to use a FDM printer if you to go to a smaller size print nozzle. You should be able to see in your slicer what you are able to print if you make it significantly smaller.

Muchas gracias.

I do not have any of my cars grouped into a single file format, but you could group the pieces you want in your slicer and generate the code as a single piece.

Muchas gracias...

Hi my friend.... I buy two models.... Now I'll be desperate to print them...hahaha. Thanks, great work...

Hi Randy, I printed the Small office G Scale and looks very good.
However , there is a problem with the roof. Roof A and Roof B are the same files, so the top does not close.
Can you send me the correct stl for the other roof part ?
info@relderson.de
Kind regards, René Elderson

There is a file called "roof ridge" that goes at the peak of the two roof halves and covers the gap

Thanks for the quick reply. I understand what you mean about the roof ridge. that is not the problem. Because both roof panels are the same, there is a gap on the sloping wall sides.
The inside of the roof panels run all the way to the top. The inside of at least 1 panel should be about 3mm shorter at the top and then the roof panels will fit neatly against the walls.
I can send a photo, but then I need your email address.
Please take a look at it.

I believe I figured out what you are referring to. I adjusted the inside of one of the roof panels and uploaded a revised version which should correct the issue. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Hi Randy, thanks for the quick correction of Roofpanel B. I printed it and it fits perfectly.
Thanks again for the service.

I'm new to 3D printing, so I'm asking. I like model trains, and I see that your models are very beautiful, which has led me to think I'd like to try printing them to add to my small collection... Regards.

you can rescale them to N using your slicer. for my models in 1mm = 1 inch native scale re-slice at 15.875%

you can rescale them to N using your slicer. for my models in 1mm = 1 inch native scale re-slice at 15.875%. I have had people rescale my models as small as Z (1:220) and print them successfully in resin.

Hola, es un bello trabajo. Se incluye el carro completo con boggies? Se puede escala para 1/160 (N)? Muchas gracias.

Which files are you referring to?

Hi Randy, I bought the B&O M-52 boxcar and a hopper the other day. I am brand new to this, so I'm wondering what infill is recommended for HO and O-scale prints of these pieces. Thanks much- arandomtrainfanatic.

I mostly print in G scale and use 20% infill. I would think that would work for smaller scales as well.

I don't have a 3D printer. Can I purchase one of your Steam Donkeys #1451097 already printed? If so, how much?

I don't produce kits but I have an agreement with scaletraxx to produce my designs. you can contact them at scaletraxx@gmail.com

Randy,
I got a 3d printer about 10months ago. Shortly after that I discovered your collection.
Thank you for sharing your designs. I have purchased many of them and still building. It must be gratifying to hear from all the people who find you designs excellent.
Thank you!
Ken Krahulec

Hi Randy,
This is Richard Henderson and I have bought a few things from you thru the years. Barnhart loader and some logging cars. What I wandering is do you sell those Loggers shacks. I would like to have 4 or 5 of them down at one end of my layout. Is that something you still do?
Thanks Randy

I have mostly gotten away from printing kits, which specific shacks were you interested in?

Randy

I am interesting to see if I could print your hopper card and perhaps pther cars in 1:20.3 standard gauge.

Are your files full size or 1:29. My email is stanamesjr@gmail.com and my phone is 617 803 7626

Thanks

Stan

all of my hopper cars were designed at 1 mm = 1" so their native scale is 1/25.4. You should be able to scale them up to 1/20.3 in your slicer
