Your web site is no longer active. Is there another source for your other designs? In this case, the 1:24 version of this model? Thanks!

Thanks JWChenard2. Apparently the data glitch or power brown-out that went through the place a couple of nights ago must have upset the server. That should be back on line now, so give it a try I need to make a note to myself to check it more regularly. Many thanks for picking that up.

Hey,
I found your model "Narrow Gauge Powered Bogie Set". I find that very interesting. Now wanted to ask if there engines are used and what they are.
I would really appreciate an answer.
greeting
Kurt

Hi Kurt. The "powered" part of the name is a little misleading sorry. While i haven't really made any trains other than a Go-motion mine trolley (https://www.techmonkeybusiness.com/articles/Go-Motion_Mine_Trolley.html) the gauge I used is almost the same as the Openrailway project on Thingiverse which has a number of locomotives on it. With a bit of scaling of those trains or these bogies you will be able to have locomotives. As far as adding power to these bogies, it could be done moderately easily with the addition of some small DC motors on each shaft. Banggood or Aliexpress are good places to go for them. Hopefully that helps. Hamish

Hi Mark
That sounds like a very cool project. I'm not sure what gauge you have in mind, but these are designed for track gauge of 36mm. They will be able to be scaled up easily enough without loss of function, and could be scaled down quite a bit too before running into print resolution issues.

I have just uploaded to my Box.com account a package of 3D printable bogies that may suit your needs better. These are a 4 wheel model and a 6 wheel bogie model. You can download them from here. https://app.box.com/s/drzmzuuxxiiojfn9gw2xpdup3og1z178 These are designed from an SLS printer but will print OK on other types of printer with support. I haven't checked them to make sure I've packaged everything.

With regard to getting them scaled up and printed, I thought Cults3d offered a printing service, but I'm unable to find it. If you were in New Zealand I'd look at printing them for you, but I'm guessing you're elsewhere in the world.
It looks like Cults3d have some sort of "On demand" design service (https://cults3d.com/en/demands/new) where they could take my design and then modify it to suit your needs and then print it.
The alternative is that you download the model, check that it is the scale you're after (or get back to me with your parameters and I'll look at adjusting the model to suit) then send the model files to somewhere like 3Dhubs or Shapeways for printing.
Anyway, that should give you a couple of things to think about. Get back to me with any questions and let's see what we can come up with.
Cheers
Hamish
