Hello there! I have downloaded some of your older ship models and scaled them up to 1:350 scale for my dioramas, and they work great! I was just wondering if you do commisions to make models of some particular ships?
Best, Andy

Hi Andy, I don't really do commissions but I do take suggestions :) - I'll do them if they seem interesting.

Unfortunately, ships take me ages to make e.g.

Hello, and thanks for a quick reply!
Wow, I did not know they were that time consuming, mad props to you for making so detailed and beautiful models! The reason I asked is because I am doing a diorama for a local museum, and I am supposed to add one of Norways most historical merchant ships, DS Hestmanden. I have no skills in 3D-modeling but I found your civilan ship-models online and just thought I should ask :) Thanks for sharing the models of your other ships!

Now you've mentioned it :), that one doesn't look quite as difficult as others I've done.
A good set of drawings is also useful:

Yes that's the ship! It is a fairly simple ship and a typical norwegian costal freigther from about 1900-1940. Hestmanden is the last remaining norwegian (possibly last one in the world) merhant vessle that served in both world wars that still exists. If you could make a model approximately close to the drawing it would be amazing and super helpfull! I can compensate you (for atleast some off) your time :D

Hi Andy - It was a rainy day here so I had a go at starting Hestmanden.

Hello,
I think your airplanes from the First World War era are very good.
I would be looking for three models

a. Siemens Schuckert D-III

b. Dornier D-1

c. Etrich A-ii Pigeon

Do you happen to have these, or how much would it cost to have them designed?

Kind regards

Juergen Schmid

Hi Juergen - I don't have any of those at the moment. I just make the models when I find time as a hobby .
I'll put them onto my list so they might appear in the next few months.

Hello friend, your model 11356 1/700 looks cool. I printed one for myself. In fact, I need the model 1135 project Ladny for my future collection. Can you help me with the model if it's not too much trouble? (Make it for me, or tell me how you made the 11356 model, for example, what resources you used) Because in reality, I don't have the necessary skills for polygonal modeling.

Hi - I made that model several years ago now using some old software but have since moved over to use Blender as my modelling tool.
Unfortunately it does take some time to learn to use any of these 3D modelling tools.

I would like to make the project 1135 at some point but I don't have much spare time these days so it might be many months before I can get to do it.

Hello, do you envisage of designing an Aviatik C1/C2? It is not readily available in stl format. Thanks for your consideration. Henk

Will consider this one - I have been looking for WW1 subjects since I moved to using blender

Great! Your selection is already impressive but there’s still a lot out there. 😉

would you be able to do the mast for the Archer class? or add additions for the machine guns?

Would you be alright if I use your models as drawing references for a TTRPG I'm planning on publishing?

Hi - not a problem, the GPL lets to use them for whatever you like (I think)

Since you have already produced RN OPVs, is there any chance you have the Island class in mind? I would like to build HMS Jersey and would be happy to give you the business. Thanks.

Hi,
Could you please tell me what angle should be used when printing off your WW1 aicraft designs?
I've tried nose up at30, 45 and 60 degrees - but none is perfect.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

I usually roll 45 to the side, then pitch up 45 so one wing and tailplane are near the base plate.

Monoplanes I usually do nose down at about 60 and add extra supports up the wing underside to stop them from warping.

Hi. You have great models and amazing details. Just one detail. The ffg admiral grigorovich and admiral gorshkov seems to have the same dimensions, however, the first one has 124mt length while the second 134mt lenth.

Well spotted - looks like grigorovich was too long. I have rescaled it and re-uploaded it to thingiverse. I presume Cults will refresh from there at some point - I've never uploaded directly here.
The new STL does not have the x on the end of the name
Gorshkov is 192mm long and Grigorovich should now be 178mm long. I think the other dimensions are close enough.

Yes, thingverse is updated. Hope Cult can do the same soon.

One last observation. The beam of grigorivh is 15.2 mt or 49.2 inches. The current 3d model seems narrow with less than 12.5mt beam.

The model seems to be 21.7mm wide ... 21.7 * 700 = 15.19m

You’re right. The scale is correct. Thank you!

Do you do commissioned work?

The Patrol ship is great could you possibly make one of the Type 23 Frigates please

Great models, just enough detail. Any chance you are doing an ANZAC Frigate or at least another Mako?
